We almost got Roy/Hasek at the Pepsi Center, except that the latter tripped over his own stick.

Which brings up the question - what's the best goalie fight (in terms of the overall quality of the two goaltenders involved)? Roy/Vernon?

Roy Vs. Hextall would have been a great fight. Officials kept Hextall from getting to him as Roy taunted him.

for over all fight quality gotta agree with hextall and potvin, but for meaning to a team Vernon and Roy is tops on this list. That brawl is what the 97 detroit team credits for putting them over the edge to win the cup.

Vernon had Roy bloodied, same with Forsberg and obviously the turtle as well. Huge mental victory for the wings

Why is Cloutier vs Salo on there? That's not a great fight, poor Salo got slaughtered.

Vernon vs Roy should haven been #1.

I think another good one even though it wasn't much of a fight but it was hilarious.

Also the fact that he held up dale hunter from trying to go after someone from behind i'm sure.

Nah, the Potvin fight was much more surprising. Nobody around the NHL expected him to feed Hextall his lunch. If HF boards existed at that time it would have been sperchless.

DP showboating down the ice to eat a one punch knock out is probably one of the more entertaining goalie fights.

The Emery Biron tilt isn't a good fight. Biron does what he feels like he needs to do and is thoroughly out matched. Emery going with Peters was pretty entertaining.

I could have considered Shields vs Burke for this list, but I may be biased by that being one of my favorite line brawls by the Sabres.

Potvin vs. Hextall is a solid choice for No. 1. I don't think anyone expected Potvin to even hold his own, much less get the decision.

Cloutier vs. Salo is just unfair.

Roy vs. Vernon is probably what I would personally choose as No. 1, though. Great fight, Vernon bloodied up "Saint Patrick" in spite of a significant size disadvantage, and that was one of the greatest rivalries in the last 30 years at its peak.

feed Hextall his lunch? what fight were you watching?

Potvin gets the nod in the fight but he didn't destroy Hextall, he cut him and might have edged him in punches. It was surprising because everyone would have thought that Hextall would have destroyed him but Felix showed that he can scrap.

Cloutier vs Salo is someone feeding the other guy their lunch

Hurme vs Potvin was pretty lulz because the players on the bench took Hurme's blocker off.

Also, Johnson vs DP should have been on the list.
