Nashville should take a serious look.

Jagr on the Preds would have put them past Vancouver.

We don't need to get any older than we already are.

The question is whether he'd want to go there. He's probably coming back to do a victory lap with one of his old teams. I say he ends up with Pittsburgh, he retires at the end of next season, and they retire his number soon after that.

They already tried that with Forsberg. They even had Kariya too.

They lost to the Sharks of all teams

We'd have to find a way to get rid of Rolston's salary, but i would love to see it happen.

As long as we have Taomora, we dont have a problem... jk
you sure meant Taormina, right sorry for being a dick^^

nonetheless, Jagr would be a solid addition to every team...imagine a line with elias, jagr and josefson or so. would be a great balance between technicality, leadership and speed...

but, i have to agree, IF he signs to an NHL team, it will be rags or ****in pengs...

and even IF he is open to sign with NJ, i def would more like to sign a PMD like Pitkanen or Ehrhoff and spend the money there...cause our F is massive and full of good new prospects...+ our draft will be a F as well...so, i dont think we have a desperate need for s.o. like Jagr...

Right, but that's not the concern. The problem is, signing him to any fair salary would mean that our defence would stay crappy.

With the cap the way it is for us there isn't much we can do to get a defenseman better then what we currently have on the roster or are RFA for us.

So if he wants a million for the one season I say we should take a chance on him.

I bet he gets 3ish. He'll cost too much. I wouldn't really want him anyway, but especially not at the salary he's probably going to get.

Agree. We definitely don't need another winger, unless he's a player that brings some real grit to the 4th line. Defense is the priority for Lou.

Why would he get that? A 39 year old who hasn't played in the NHL for 3 seasons? What brain dead gm would give him more then a million and a half? There is no way he's getting 3 million unless he goes to a crappy team that needs a draw or the Oilers.

3 million is a fair deal if he can put up 60-65 points which I think he can do. I'm on board for shipping out Clarkson for a 7th to get this done.

Because he's Jagr and is still a quality player as evident by his PPG production in the KHL. Obviously it's a different league, but he was capable of more than 70 points in his last NHL year and succeed at the Olympics. I think he still has his game, not as good as he once was, but 60 points for 3 million is a fair deal.

We can't afford it without shipping out Clarkson, Rolston, or Zubrus.

Which probably won't happen, so we won't be signing Jagr.

It seems like every international tournament Jagr ponders coming back.
