ECHL Ontario Reign open free agent camp September 23-24.

The SPHL's Mississippi Surge and Pensacola Ice Flyers will be holding a joint free agent camp October 9th and 10th at the Pensacola Civic Center. Participants will be competing for spots in the Surge or Ice Flyers' main training camps that belong October 12.

The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announced the following eight players have been extended and accepted training camp tryout agreement offers from the Thunder Free Agent Tryout Camp, which concluded on Friday, Sept. 23:

• Greg Brown (D) – Chemanius, British Columbia
• Brandon Burlingame (C) – Boring, Ore.
• Todd Chinova (RW) – Watertown, Conn.
• Balazs Deifik (F) – Tujunga, Calif.
• Javier Rabago (G) – Mexico City, Mexico
• Drew Sanders (F) – Modesto, Calif.
• Jeff Sawhill (D) – San Jose, Calif.
• Dan Sulitzer (D) – Happy Valley, Ore.

Actually yes. I never would have thought that so maby players would be given contracts from a tryout. I figured that it would normally be something like one or two. Maybe three at most

While this is true ECHL/AHL Camps are kinda misleading. Lots of AA guys go to AHL Camps because the AHL teams are shorthanded and because of that ECHL Camps are shorthanded. Good for the players though regardless.

Stockton promised AT LEAST one D, G, F would attend camp. So, they pulled multiple D and F from try outs.


Even if they are cut from camp, if there's a shortage of players (due to call ups), they might get a few weekends of work this season. You never know.

This is true. The Goalie will be around somewhere incase of an emergency I would assume. It also helps the players out with their careers because generally other teams scous at this level are on hand. I wish they would take more than 3 here but they opt to sign a team full of guys and release whatever they have to(usually good players. )
