Despite the coach, Jack Edwards, the funny way the fans talk, Marc Savard, and former sellout Ray Bourque - I like many things about Boston. Not the least of which is Tim Thomas. Dude was nearly a fading memory from the league and revived his career in his twilight years to lead the league this year. He's got some of the Marty charm with a short fuse and I can't help but cheer for a guy who wipes out on a fastest skater competition and laughs at himself for it.
Beyond that the team is built very much like the 1995 Devils in my opinion and even with Julienball trying to slow down the game, they work for their goals. Mark Recchi is just the icing on the cake and since I don't have to be around their fans at all, I can let that issue go completely. Red Sox/Yankees fans are all obnoxious - just like Bruins and Rangers fans I'm sure. Not gonna hold that against the team.
I want an original 6 Eastern team to win it after the Hawks last season.
And purely for the anti-Brodeur fallout that would certainly occur in every discussion about best goaltenders of all time should Vancouver win the cup - anyone but Vancouver.
