I'll take that as a 2nd on Strome.

Does it need a 3rd or just roll with a 2nd?

I say Strome needs to fall all the way the 32nd overall...

Phew. Not that we're going to get much further at approx. 11:30 Eastern, but I think we can just approve Strome and go ahead and press on. I think it's been seconded at this point, so I'll carry that motion.

Okay then...

The Avs select Mika Zibanejad from Djurgarden.

Since the Avs don't draft again until the 4th round....I'll be seeing ya!

Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to select, from the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL, centerman Mark McNeill

Pierre McGuire: "A bit of a do-it-all guy, this kid's a monster in the same mold as Ryan Getzlaf. With his big stick presence and his playmaking, putting him between Skinner and Dalpe in the coming years should create some real magic"

Sorry I wasn't around, lost my internet for a good 24 hours yesterday. Strome is definetly the consensus pick at that point.

Calgary gladly adds some skill and grit to their potential top 6 by selecting Sven Bartschi of the Portland Winterhawks.

That's a bad pick this early in the draft... Klefbom would have been much better suited to a pick at around 32nd overall...

Seriously, good choice. That's absolutely the guy that I was hoping would be overlooked in the first round.

Come on Bluenote 13. Pick Schiefele. He scored a ton @ the World U 18. "Production must be respected"

Well, how can I resist?

The New York Rangers are happy to select, from the Barrie Colts, Forward Mark Scheifele.

IMO, the best forward on the board. Brodin, Armia, and Kohkalachev were all in the mix for this pick.

PM sent to next GM.

Stole my pick. And if I recall correctly, last year you took Ross just before I was going to. Sly, very sly.

The take winger Matt Puempel.

Just an FYI, fellas, if the next pick is made over night, I likely won't be able to make my selection until roughly 7PM et tomorrow night after the workday is over.

If I can I make a suggestion... If you know you won't be available and your pick is coming up, why not send Canuck71 a list of 2 or 3 picks and he can announce your pick for you?
