Would that have been your pick at twenty? Just curiosity.

I really like Namestnikov as well, but I took Noesen for "Anaheim" because I feel he fills more of a positional need being a winger and with the type of grit he brings.

I know I'm higher than most on Noesen but I really think he can be a pretty versatile guy that can play in your Top 9 and eventually contribute like Chris Kunitz/Ryan Malone type player... I'm really curious to see where he goes on draft day. I'm thinking he'll go early on day two but I wouldn't be surprised if someone steps up and takes him in the first. He also had a really good playoff run, especially in the series against Kitchener.

i was wondering where saad would go.

he seems like a guy this year that almost everyone agrees is a first rounder, but no-one really wants him.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a bit surpirsed at the way he's falling in the eyes of pundits, but I can see the lack of consistent production being a big concern. For the Pens, apart from being a hometown kid, he seems like just the type of player they like to fill their lineup with. Should be interesting to see where he goes come draft day.

^ I'll third the nobody-likes-Saad sentiment. Nobody falls like a big guy who doesn't use his size enough and doesn't have top end skating. I saw three Saginaw games this year (not in person) and I liked his puck protection in open ice...but along the boards and around the net he annoyed me with his lack of interest. Not a fan, but the skill is there, and it's enticing.

it's weird. I look at him and think: this guy should be a first rounder. Just not my team.

Phil Bozak hasn't been active for a couple of days.

I nominate Joe Morrow as the consensus pick. Gunna need at least 2 approvals from other GM's but Im gunna go ahead and PM Washington for them to pick.

select Joe Morrow, D, Portland (WHL)

select Tyler Biggs, RW, US NTDP.

Morrow was my guy and if I were able to trade down and recoup a second or third I'd be inclined to. Some may peg a Russian skilled forward here--and, who knows, that may happen--but their system is bereft of potential power forwards and his size/physical presence is a very welcome addition.

Seconded. Surprised he hasn't been taken already.

That's the next David Backes, AFAIC.

I nearly did at #12. Had one of five ways I could have gone with that pick (McNeil, Morrow, Olkesiak, Scheifele, Armia)

I noticed this too. It's been very odd so far. Mostly all the posters here are very active and you would think with it being playoff time they would be on at least every other day. Hopefully he makes his pick within a reasonable time frame, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for the quick pick Joe! Good pick as well.

I am going to give Toronto until around midnight or at least a half hour to an hour after the hockey game is over tonight to make their pick. I think we can assume if he's not going to be active in those hours it is doubtful he will be overnight or early in the morning.

I will go ahead and make my pick right after his deadline and notify Edmonton to make their pick which can be made tomorrow at some point. Hope everyone is alright with this! Draft is moving along quite well right now.

Phil Bozak hasn't been active for quite some time. Since different people have different opinions on players I'm gunna assign the top ranked player left on central scoutings list.

select with the 29th overall pick from London (OHL), C, Vladislav Namestnikov.

Gunna need two others to consensus this pick as well.

And with the 30th overall pick the are proud to select from the Saint John Sea Dogs, Centreman, Zack Phillips.

Edmonton has been notified but will get an extended period of time to pick since I made my selection so late.
