Wild's plan for success

Step 1: Conference realignment
Step 2: Winter Classic
Step 3: Profit!

I figured out step 2!

I thought about that, and wondered if four conference games would be okay. Two at home, two away. But that just leaves ten games leftover to be dispersed around the league in random games? It could work, but I'm still iffy on it.

Either way, I'm pumped about the new alignment.

I tried to make the rounds to our new conference mates, but only decided to post on the Nashy and Winny boards. Detty had a thread but they were all *****ing about having the Wild in it and basically saying only this year's central division will make the playoffs in this new conference, Winnipeg, Dallas, and Minny will never make it, apparently.

Chicago and St. Louis are suprisingly dead boards.

Columbus fans just hate us since the Clutter/Wiz incident earlier this season, so I decided to skip over them

Full details: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...id=DL|NHL|home

We get 4 teams 5x, 3 teams 6x, and the rest 2x.

4 per conference make the playoffs. First 2 rounds divisional.

Also, beating 4 of Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis, Winnipeg and Detroit doesn't actually sound that easy. Detroit's Detroit, Chicago's gonna be solid for a few more years, if Nashville signs Suter and Weber they're not going away easy, and St. Louis and Winnipeg are trending up...

Interesting. I was going to go looking on our new conference-mates boards. Guess I'll go say hi to the Jets and tell them I hate them

Weirdest thing about new alignment will be fact any teams can potentially meet in finals. No more East v. West in any sense.

Gotta love all the (mainly East) fans complaining about how awful this is. You guys have been spoiled for way too long.

Is the Florida travel to their opponents that much further than ours is now?

Detroit doesn't want to be in a division with Winnipeg or Minnesota, so I will have no problem booing them in the Phone Booth

Needs NHLPA final approval to make it real. But it's great news, its going to help build a lot more rivalries.

And their playoff odds are actually markedly better now.

You gotta think that's how the 'West' got the 'East' to agree to this.

Great day to be a Wild fan. This was the only plan that I approved of, and I approve this one greatly.

Now all we gotta do is join forces with all the other teams fan bases to ensure that the division gets its proper name: Norris.

I wonder how Detroit feels about this... *starts lurking in Red Wings board*

I am also interested in how Detroit feels. I suppose they feel better since they will only be travelling out to the west coast once per team each year instead of twice, but theyre still not in the east. I bet they voted for the proposal simply because they felt anything was better than the status quo.

The vote was supposedly 26-4. What I want to know is which teams were the four.

Obviously Canadian teams.

Edit: Dude, some teams don't even have board-specific threads about the realignment! I wanna know what each fan-base thinks!

Not the Wild for sure.

I'd say 4 Eastern teams.
