I was wondering if he would sign. Him and Carrick will be two big additions to the Majors defence core.

I agree. I think Mississauga should sign Burnside but for forward over D. I seen him play both and believe he is better suited up front. It was interesting that he was chosen for the Under 17 camp as forward although playing D all year.

Although not formally announced, Carrick has committed to St. Mikes.

Majors preliminary roster for 2011-2012 was released today. And it shows Jamie Wise, David Corrente and Jordan Mayer as the returning OA's.

Unless, as mentioned above the intention is to play Burnside at forward? Not including Teskey and Kuptsov (who as yet is unsigned??) the roster only shows eight returning forwards, with only Sutch listed as a RW. So based on the preliminary roster, there is a need for one center and 3 RW's.

Also, this may have been posted before, but I found this article re: Carrick.

Also found this article re: Grant Syrette. Looks like he will be at camp competing for a forward spot.

Do you see that roster a possibility considering him playing D?

Absolutely. During Flemming's first couple of years in the league he played up quite a bit. If there is a chance to get him signed, and the team feels he is ready, the he could certainly be in the mix to play some D or at F.

A couple of things to consider...first, that things could go either way this year. If the team underachieves, then some of the remaining vets will probably be moved to accelerate the re-build. Second...there have been rumours ever since the London trades at the deadline that some pieces were moving there to re-coup some of those picks. It may just be a rumour...but if a d-man is shipped out as part of that deal... My guess is, this deal would have already been made, but who knows...sorry for the long answer.

lol no issues here. That's how i see the roster as of right now. After training camp we will see what happens. Does the Majors camp start on August 30 or 31st?

excellent sounds good I really think Wise played a more well rounded game once he came to the majors. I believe he's one of the hardest working and feistiest players in the league.

as for the situation on defense i feel the top 3 may be set in stone with Percy, Corrente and DeMelo. Cord can finally receive a full time roster spot. So this leaves a handful of guys battling for a couple of spots which will be exciting to watch in camp and preseason.

As for London trade rumors, I have always felt that there would be a deal done to receive some of those 2nd round picks back. I figured it might have involved DeMelo and Flick (if he came back) seeing as they are London natives for some of London's young players (Tierney or Athanasiou) But lets see what happens once camp starts

Majors Site

Anyone else ever wonder why the Majors' website is so slow to add newly signed players to the roster.

The roster on the site does not show Teskey, Martin, Duhaime, Diodati, etc...even though there have been press releases indicating such. Diodati's signing was only released by the agency that represents him...nothing from the team???

heres another crack at lines after the recent signings

Smith-Pelly - Mayer - Sutch
Partanen - Cramarossa - Kuptsov
Brace - Rasmussen - Schoenmakers
Wise - Backus - Teskey
Syrette

Percy - Corrente
DeMelo - Duhaime
Cord - Carrick
Diodati

HM: Graves,

Anderson
Martin
Edwards

the only wildcard is Josh Burnside, will he play Forward, will he play D, will he play Jr. A so i left him off this lineup

The irony. Considering there's more posts in this there than the Ottawa thread.

Looking forward to see how this season pans out for the Majors. Unfortunately I won't be able to see many games, while I'm off at school, but I'm gonna try to keep tabs on them throughout the year.

Hoping for a full rebuild, ie. trading Anderson, DSP etc. at the deadline. I'm also hoping they try to keep Cameron's system. It might not be flashy, but it wins games. Lastly, I'm hoping we try to recoup some of those picks, they'll come handy in a deep 2012 draft.

I think they will only trade those guys if it gets rly bad (ex. Barrie last year)

should be a middle of the pack team if key guys dont stick with nhl clubs

The Majors should challenge for home ice this year, if they get all their key players back, as well as getting a few guys to step it up. Would be nice to see solid, and more consistent, offensive contributions from Brace and Partanen this year. Also, with so many new faces on the blue line, they're going to need Percy, DeMelo and Corrente to be solid on a nightly basis...

I think the way last year turned out it might spark a fire under some guys

Partanan - not being drafted and finally top 6 minutes might allow him to become a dynamic player

Cramarossa - top 6 minutes will allow him to fully come into his own

Brace - can work on playing two way game

Mayer - will work hard and be a leader every night and who knows, maybe he has a Jason Akeson like season

but the player im most excited to see get more ice time and dominate is Sutch. he played 4th line minutes all year last year and played extremely well in the mem cup. if he didnt get hurt in the semi against kootenay we could have won it maybe. he jumps right to the top of the depth chart on the right side of the ice
