EDIT: nevermind the import pick is 2013, not 2012
Leaves us with our first rd import pick this year (I think...). Kuptsov should only get better. Just turned 17. He needs to be given a chance to develop.

hopefully DeAngelo or Nikandrov (Sarnias 4th rounder in 2011) are a part of it. Nikandrov impressed me at OHL cup last year
It's highly unlikely they part with either of those 95's, IMO. I can definitely see it being the Ritchie picks with Maxwell as well.

They still have 4. Maxwell, Robertson, Brown and Thompson.

DeAngelo and Nikandrov can not be moved until next year.

They are probably going to move Brace, or Mayer, and if Mayer than the OA situation is ok.

With the way its shaping up right now Mississauga has a chance at Michael Dal Colle which would be a good boost to their offense. I wouldn't be surprised if Peyton Backus, Josh Burnside or Cody Filson crack the roster for next year.

id be thrilled if we can land Dal Colle

wouldnt be disappointed with Bourne or Fabbri either but im hearing both will be too high for us.

lets wait and see how the rest of the season goes

Ho-sang will go 1 and Fabbri will go 2, I doubt Mississauga will be that low.

If McDavid is granted Exceptional Status, then McDavid #1, Ho Sang #2 and Fabbri #3

As phenomenal as McDavid is I doubt he gets exceptional status because of Ekblad getting it last year. Hockey Canada is not going to make this a yearly thing.

I agree with you, and only for that reason, he may not get it. But it would be nice to see him in the OHL next year, and to see possibly Fabbri in a Majors uniform.

I totally forgot about the non-first round 16 year old rule as well.

Don't think Bourne will be out of their range, though Fabbri definitely will.

It all depends if OSH passes them, if they do and MISS misses the playoffs, they automatically pick top 4. If not, they'll likely be in the 6-7 range like they are now. That being said, I would be surprised if they don't slide a bit due to the players they've traded/been rumored to trade. Though, I was definitely surprised when they won their first 10 or so as well, so who knows.

If they end up in the 4 to 7 range, these are the players (all forwards) I can see them targeting, in order of who I'd take if I were them:

Jared McCann - Very skilled with the puck. Plays mostly centre, the point on the PP. A lot of potential as a scorer and a playmaker. Great vision. He also has good size, with a frame to get stronger.
Michael Dal Colle - Plays predominately centre. Really solid two-way player, with good size. Might be the highest Hockey IQ in the draft. Less offensive potential than the others on this list, but is also the safest player.
Eric Cornell - The most potential on this list, IMO. Plays mostly wing, and is more of a playmaker than a scorer (though has a very good shot). Great frame, and he plays with the least amount of talent on this list.
Damien Bourne - The second highest potential on this list behind Cornell. At 6'4 he's got a great frame to improve his already impressive strength. Skates really well, not just for a player of his size. He's still behind the other three, IMO, though he would have easily gone top 5 last year.

The top three guys are pretty interchangeable, and I would be more than happy with them in the #4 spot.

I definitely agree with this. McDavid is the second best player in Minor Midget, regardless of being a 97, IMO. The kid is just an incredible talent, and is easily better than Ho-Sang at this time a year ago.

Majors will never pick Dal Colle.

Best case scenario for them is if they tank to 3rd worst, and McDavid is granted Exceptional Status.

wherever we sit at the end of the season our draft pick will be the highest since 2007 when we picked Cizikas.

the way I see it we get a quality player either way

now lets just wait and see if Boyd has some more trades working

Any reason why you think this? He seems like the perfect player for the Majors.

I definitely agree with this. If you're going to finish near the bottom, it helps when its a good draft. Which this year is, for sure.

Anderson deal done

To Sarnia:

JP Anderson

To Mississauga:

Brandon Maxwell
Gue's 2nd Rnd '12
Niag's 2nd Rnd '13
Pbo's 2nd Rnd '14
5th Rnd '14
5th Rnd '15

I like it, lots of picks

Now lets wait and see what happens with one of our current OA's. I may not be certain but can a team not carry more than 3 overagers as long as they only dress 3 of them???

Im a huge jamie wise fan and dont want to see him go, or lose the oppurtunity of getting him to sign my jersey. Heres hoping he stays

Teams have to be down to 3 OA's following the trade deadline. Thats why they changed the deadline for OA's to be dealt to a day before (Jan 9th) so teams would have 24 hours to sign a free agent OA if one is cut (Sullivan rule).

Like the trade a lot. Boyd has done a great job re-stocking the cupboard...recouped most of the picks sent to London in the D'Orazio trade last year. How injured is Corrente? Possible he is the one to go? Or perhaps there is some trade value in either Mayer or Wise and London picks one up on the cheap (believe they still have an available OA spot).

Hey Pick Six,

I think that the top 4 (Mcdavid, Ho Sang, Fabbri and Dal Colle) are clear above the rest.

They need goal scorers and I would love to see S. Watson from London in Major land.

Corrente was 4-6 weeks

Its almost crushing to tell a guy your OHL career is over while he's recovering from injury but im sure its happened before

Id like to see Mayer and Brace to London for Tierney and 2 draft picks

London is still looking. May only need 1 F thou. Trade sounds ok to me, for all that's worth!
Hunter will not get taken to the cleaners in any deal for a vet F thou, as there seems to be a bunch avail

Carnivale got shipped to Kingston in the Brown deal...he's done for the year with a shoulder injury...can't imagine how thrilled he is to be hanging out in Kingston.

As for the game tonight...the team doesn't look like it gives up,anything. Schoenmakers brings more grit than Kontos, but I like Kontos's size and speed. Maxwell played solid and if he keeps us in games, what more can we ask. Cramarossa played very little this year, so getting those picks is a bonus...we played most of the year without him...

Rumors on the NOOF have Mayer to Brampton or Wise to London as possibilities...

Majors are blowing it up to get a great draft pick and to start rebuilding for next 2 years. It would be a shame if Maxwell starts lighting it up like tonight, and they make the playoffs.

I dont think Majors are finished dealing.

all in all, the team played well last night

Maxwell made some big saves, kept us in it a couple times and stoned all but 1 shooter in the SO

Kontos was good in my opinion, played well with top line minutes just didn't have chemistry on the power play that let to wasted opportunities but that will come with time.

I still think one or both of Brace and Mayer are on their way out. For me I don't mind us winning hockey games, sure a top 4 pick would be great but just to make the playoffs and get a couple home games and still end up with a 5-8 pick would be fine with me.
