Troy Brouwer to your team

I'm not sure that Brouw fits the Hawks plans going forward with the raise he'll ask for. What would you give up for his RFA rights?

I can't see Edmonton being interested unless they were getting rid of Brule and one of Omark or Hemsky.

Maybe a 3rd rounder + a scrubby prospect.

Wonder what the Penguins or Sabres would give up for him....

I don't see why we'd get rid of Brouwer unless it was for a big #5 defenseman. Brouwer has size and grit which are two things in low quantity up front.

With the trading of Jack Skille I doubt the Hawks entertain any ideas of shipping Troy Brouwer out. With Hossa n Kane being the other RW's some might think Chicago would want some size behind them. Especially when the Hawks have more skill on the left wing

Your choice of Stajan, Kotalik, Hagman or all 3.

They'll clearly go for option D: None of the above.

Pouliot, Desharnais, Draft Pick for Troy Brouwer

With the way the cap situation in Chicago, even if the cap went to 62m. Chicago are at 54m with 15 players signed. Besides Brouwer, they have Frolik, Campoli to sign too. Chicago might in interested in cheap NHL ready players. A third line of Andrei - Eller - Brouwer would be brutal.

I wonder if:

rights to Pouliot RFA
rights to Carle RFA
2nd - 4th round pick '12 or '13

for

rights to Brouwer RFA RFA
rights to Kopecky UFA UFA

I started a similar tread - I had Pouliot, Desharnais and a draft pick for Troy Brouwer.

the rights to Bozak RFA for the rights to Brouwer

or Lebda which I know the hawks would NEVER take but that would be amazing.

or Phills 3rd + a prospect depending on the prospect

Interesting target in Brouwer but 2 roster players and a pick? I say DD and a prospect could get it done.

Its for the rights of Brouwer not a signed Brouwer you know that right?

Pouliot had almost similar numbers playing 3rd and 4th line minutes. Desharnais would of been a 40 point player if he played the full season and not half. Both of which are probably going to sign less together than for what Brouwer wants for a full contract alone.

I would think Brouwer would look good on a line with Cammalleri and Plekanec and give them a right handed shot.

I would be interested in acquiring both Kopecky and Brouwers rights for Pouliot a pick and possibly a prospect.

We would have a good lineup and would not have to dip into free agency and get into biddings wars if everything went smoothly.

Just curious why you ask about the Sabres? They have a lot on the wing (Vanek, Ennis, Gerbe top 3 on the left, Pominville, Stafford, Boyes top 3 on the right). Physical play from Kaleta, McCormick and a decision guy in Grier who may retire after struggling with a bad knee down the stretch and into the playoffs. Stafford could be due a big payday and they have a bundle tied up in Pominville, Vanek, and Boyes already.

Chicago will need either a C who can play PK and has size, a #5/6 cheap Dman who can PK, or a a winger that can PK in return.

I would do that as a Hawks fan. Any idea of how much Bozak could command? Somewhere between 1.8-2.2M? Higher?

David Desharnais will be RFA too. He's got tremendous skill. He showed that by leading the team in points in the 2nd half of the season.

The problem with him is he'S 5'8.

If somehow we moved Gomez, Desharnais would be perfect for 3 rd line center, but Eller is there. We would like a big shutdown center for the 4 th line. Desharnais may stick around for a while due to Eller injury but will probably be moved at some point.
