If I'd actually paid for that PPV myself, I would have crapped my pants out of fury.

Imagine how the boxing fans felt in the late 80s-early 90s when they'd drop big bucks on Tyson fights and they'd last 1 round.

Well after his 907th or so 90 second KO, you'd think they would have learned.

Also, wouldn't it have been possible to go to a sports bar to see it then? That seems pretty much impossible now. I've only found one bar recently that has been able to carry boxing matches, and it's located in the DC ghetto and seems to have somehow lied to Comcast about it's status as a business/residence. This was after calling more bars than I could keep track of to see if they had it, and they all answered "they wouldn't let us show it."

I watched the Leafs/Sens preseason game tonight and realized that I know by name about 90-95% of the Leafs fringe-NHL prospects (the ones that make it to preseason games)

And it's not because of checking hockeysfuture or any knowledge of the organization...it's all due to repeat trade offers on HF

Kadri is apparently incredibly good, but they want to get rid of him as fast as possible. One of the great mysteries of life.

And now they're saying Hartnell did NOT hit one ....cmon Timmay.
That made me chuckle. Here's Hartnell (I never noticed he was Asian) after he took one particularly potent swing.

Anyone ever been to flyershistory.net? The last few times I have been there my browser (Google Chrome) tells me that it is a malicious website and my computer may risk infection by going forward. Anyone else ever get this?

I think its because there's information stored on the site there regarding players who were known as locker room cancers, or bad influences – thus the malicious warning. But do not fret, they have all been since traded and are firmly placed in Flyer's History and not future.

Wow, could the music be any more cliché?

I mean, play the video and don't look at the screen. It's still clearly Japanese baseball.

Scientists at Cern believe they have broken the speed of light. Waiting for independent confirmation.

That would be almost frightening.

Also, if things work as a nutjob I was having a discussion with a few weeks ago mean... things might be very weird for a while until the scientists figure this one out. He claimed that evolution couldn't be true since Darwin himself doubted it (something to do with Lord Kelvin's measurement of how old the sun was caused Darwin to re-evaluate his theory at some point since it wouldn't leave enough time for evolution to work, Lord Kelvin had however dismissed the idea that the sun is burning an internal fuel (hydrogen), he instead thought it had built up all its heat when it formed and was after that radiating that heat like a hot coal). I then wondered if the nutjob really thought that this was how things worked, that gravity took a pause when Einstein introduced his new equations and before that had worked exactly how Newton had calculated, but now waited around to see how this new debate would settle.

He essentially said yes.

Arrested Development coming back to TV for another season followed by a movie

From today's NewYorkerFest in NYC where there was a full cast reunion...

Don't know if this deserves its own thread or not (probably not), but I am so psyched I figured I'd give it one anyway.
