As weird as this may sound that's better news. He can still play next game with a bummed shoulder but wouldn't be able to with a concussion.

The worst part is that the Sharks PP has been so lethal this series, and then to go what, 0 for 4, in the first on the PP? Brutal. I really thought the Sharks would have cashed in on one of those, would have changed the entire look of the game...

im strangely confident we will win game 5, provided the refs stay out of it, only to get everyone's hopes up and then lay down a huge stinker to lose the series on home ice in game 6

The 2nd and 4th goals he could've had.

Don't count on it, the Refs haven't stayed out of one game yet.

that's what has me livid. niemi stole us game 1 and we didn't care enough to actually win it. today was a very winnable game and again, we just didn't ****ing want it.

when the players don't seem to want it, it's pretty frustrating as a fan to emotionally invest in the games

I don't really understand what you call it when a team consistently can not put out a good effort in playoff games, especially when they advance. Let's track back

VS. LA
gm1 ok
gm2 atrocious
gm3 atrocious start, very lucky to win
gm4 very good
gm5 good effort but loss
gm6 good
VS DET
game 1 ok
game 2 good
game 3 not good, but pulled it out
game 4 ok, good comeback
game 5 awful
game 6 awful
game 7 ok, I think they were lucky to win
VS VAN
game 1 not good
game 2 atrocious
game 3 good for 2/3rds of the game
game 4 atrocious

I'm honestly at a loss at this point, I don't know if they're bipolar or they just hate each other or what, but look at what Chicago and Nashville did to Vancouver and the Sharks have been their easiest opponent so far.

I don't feel like we make other teams outplay us so much as a game starts and there's a collective bending over on the teal side. There isn't even a consistent reason why.

I don't know.

Every penalty today was deserved. Mitchell ****ed up and gave the Nucks one 5-3. 1-0 Nucks.

Couture jumps on too early and plays the puck. 2-0 Nucks.

Murray fires the puck over the glass from Sharks own end. 3-0 Nucks.

How on Earth is anyone blaming the refs for what these 3 guys did to totally screw us over in this game?

How the heck do you reach game 5 of the conference finals with one victory by more than one goal. It's absurd.

That's not at all the problem. The sharks have been good all year at winning 1 goal games. They find a way...

What's concerning is the inconsistent effort that we see on the ice from game to game.

There's a home improvement show on CSN-California? Who wants to watch a postgame after this dud anyways?

that 4th goal I'm going to give serious props to Sedin. It was a very smart play on his part, and very lucky.

That second goal...I'm not going to blame the goalie on a 5 on 3. Could he have had it? Sure, it's possible, but the Sharks put themselves in a really crappy position.

The 4th I agree, but the 2nd? No. Niemi has NEVER shown that he can stop point blank slappers between the circles. I don't think ANY goalie practices for that.

Not even just game to game, but plenty of period to period inconsistency as well.

it's on nbc.

but who would want to watch it? you want to watch all the van penalties we couldn't capitalize on? the sharks penalties that gave the game away?
