Sharks open house - put in your offers here

So if the Sharks lose this series, I expect them to clean house. Who do you think will be available? This club badly needs needs a big time shake up. Lets face it, this years sharks is pretty much a mirror image of last years. This club needs a shake up of the core and i think sharks fans have been through enough BS.

Honestly, I would like to see them do a reverse-Heatley trade... Move Heatley for 3 smaller pieces.

My asking price would be:
1. A solid #3 defenseman (same mold as Douglas Murray)
2. A great #3 center (same mold as Manny Malhotra)
3. A 2nd round pick in 2012

The decrease in payroll will also help San Jose sign some better bottom-6 players and improve their defensive core as a whole.

They really need to get rid of Heatley. They were so much better when they didn't have him.

Heatley and Marleau have NMC's and Thornton has a NTC, so any drastic changes aren't going to be that simple.

I'd imagine Lombardi will call for Clowe.

If I'm the Sabres I'm at least inquiring about Marleau. Pavelski too, but there's obviously no way he's getting moved.

What gets Marleau, assuming he's willing to waive?

I would LOVE Clowe on the Habs. He is the missing piece on our top 6. What do SJ Fans want for him ?

Thornton, Marleau, and Pavelski are the only players that the Leafs may target. What would it take for either of them?

I could see Burke going after Pavelski. Dunno what he'd offer.

NMC / NTCs basically dictate that they can't / won't make changes. Their problem is being too top heavy amongst their forwards and not enough on the blueline.. guys like Clowe, Couture, Setoguchi, Pavelski all earn their keep. It's the $21m committed to Thortnon, Marleau and Heatley that's the problem.

heatley and his contract are an albetros around doug wilsons neck.

the sharks will be screwed when couture, clowe, pavelski and setogouchi(sp) come calling for big raises..

That is a fantastic deal. I can't see why the Sharks would say no.

If I was Doug Wilson, Id ship out Thornton (though hes has a good playoffs but hes had so many chances taking the sharks to the big dance and has failed), Marleau and Heatley. All 3 just dont know how to win, end of story. They've had so many chances and have failed every year. Trade them for Dmen and salary dumps and replace them with lesser older vets who know how to win and can show the kids. This club lacks heart. What they need is Selanne who is going on 41 soon and plays with 1000x more heart than the entire sharks club.

Sharks new core is now Couture, Pavelski, Clowe, Seto and co. Go with the kids up front. Sharks are deep in forwards down on the farm, they need dmen. Shipping out the 3 biggest contracts up front can land them a couple decent top 4 dmen.

Get rid of wallin, Huskins, White. Theyre all mirror clones of one another and skate as fast as a turtle.

Clauses only matter if the player has decided he absolutely won't go anywhere.

If a guy's team comes to him and says we want to make a move, I'm not sure it's 100% all those guys will say no way.

The Sharks need to upgrade their defence. It may take sacrificing some of their depth up front due to the big tickets they have, but I'm not sure they have to blow up the team to do it.

I would offer Smyth + Martinez for Heatley.

Awards:
Buffalo has a number of mid-pairing young defensemen to put into a deal along with their first for someone like Pavelski.

Hasn't that been the expectation every summer after the Sharks don't meet expectations?

Looking at it from the outside, it seems that the media and fans will have the same reaction to a playoff loss this season as they have in the past after playoff failures yet Doug Wilson seems committed to his core group. I seriously doubt any of Thornton, Marleau, Heatley, Pavelski or Boyle are going to be casualties - instead, Wilson will likely just tinker with his roster similar to past summers and bring in 1-2 new faces, followed by some trade deadline changes of similar magnitude, and chalk up this playoff loss as another stepping stone of learning how to win.
