Bryz will sign for one more year in hopes this ownership quest comes to an end and Don Maloney, for some reason has no problem attracting player to the desert.

Just my 2 cents. Not calling you out.
The Phoenix roster would come with a goalie leaving and a captain trying to follow suit. Kane, Byfuglien, Bogosian, Burmistrov, the choice is easy. Atlanta.

IMO, the writing on the wall was there regardless, as Don Waddell's days were numbered during and after the Kovalchuk ordeal.

This is worse than the offer before. Like I mentioned earlier, Detroit has nothing of interest to make Wpg/ATL consider dealing with them. Unless Zetterberg or Datsyuk are on the table?

What would they want for Ladd's rights?

A roster player, pick, prospect?

I don't think he's been made available. All the propaganda about unspecified players wanting to leave or asking to be traded is just a fantasy. He's the captain of the team and is still a RFA. If he was made available, I'm guess Lars Eller would be the player asked for in return.

It would have to be a sign and trade deal if it was even ever to happen. No way Montreal would deal him straight up for Eller and its just for Ladd's rights.

Yeah to be honest I could see Ladd wanting out. I heard a couple of times that he wasn't interested in resigning in Atlanta.

This is a unique situation though (and one that isn't even official yet) so I guess we'll have to wait and see how he takes a relocation.

From what I can tell from comments from the players:

1.) Byfuglien liked Atlanta genuinely, but he knew that he'd be going be near his home when he signed the long term deal. He's happy.
2.) Bogosian has homesickness issues. He won't be happy in Winnipeg, and he was mopey in Atlanta.
3.) Ladd and Wheeler will be looking for a way out. Wheeler already considers his stint in ATL as an audition.
4.) Little, Burmistrov, and especially Kane will be happy to be in a hockey town. Kane will be thrilled to be in Canada.
5.) Thorburn will demand a trade. He just signed a three year deal and bought a big house in ATL that needs a tonne of work (the whole bottom floor is gutted). His family has just gotten their roots down, and love Atlanta. Trade to Nashville??? Same for Boulton. Plus, Thorburn is on the record saying "It makes a guy mad" that the owners are trying to "dump" them.
6.) Mason and Pavs should be fine with the move. Especially Mason.
7.) Anthony Stewart tweeted that he wanted to be in Atlanta over "Any Place Else"

How about Enstrom, I've heard he'd be fine since he's already a long way from home.

Enstrom doesn't say much, so no one knows what he thinks about the situation.

He's not very noticed is he? I can barely find any video of him on Youtube. If the Thrashers do come here I hope he gets the attention he deserves.

No, he isn't unfortunately. He's not very flashy, so if you just watch him one game he won't really stand out. when you get to watch him for a whole season, you'll see how good he is.

That said, he's the best defenseman that the Thrashers have ever had at least IMO. And I would put him in the top 5 players in Thrashers history.

I wouldn't call it propoganda given that Ladd talked about his desire to play in Chicago or for contender numerous times and unlike Byfuglien who re-signed with Thrashers (Knowing the danger of relocation) from what I can gather Ladd has had very little talk with Thrashers about contract all year and his opinion of Jets is still ?

Ladd was talking with the Thrashers about a contract before Byfuglien signed his. I assume that when the owners said they wanted to "be rid of the team" the talks never got any closer. As far as I know, they were still talking up until the end of the year, but nothing was close.

Well you would be person in the know but what I had heard in our area with regards to Ladd when Buff signed is that talks had not gone well with Thrashers and that his future with team was ?

Do you have any links to that? Obviously all I know is local stuff, but I thought it was going well and then just never got completed.

Maybe they consider taking MPS, Lander, Omark and 19th overall for Kane then?

Bogo is from WNY right? So that means either Toronto or Buffalo only?

No, he's closest to Ottawa and very close to Montreal.

I think you are severely inflating the value of Bogo. If you are thinking multiple 1sts and a top-tier prospect, it ain't gonna happen.

My thought with the Wings proposal would be to give Winnipeg/ATL a top-6 forward, a good defense prospect (Kindl is the 2nd best d-prospect in the Wings system), and a mid-round pick.

I can see you saying that the 4th round pick shouldn't be included, but I don't know how much more Bogo will get on the market. You might possibly get a 1st rounder for him, but with no additional NHL-ready players, or top-notch prospects.

If he's not traded, you run the risk of him leaving as a UFA.

That's what Dudley's looking for.

In 4 years, he can leave. There's no risk right now to keep him.

I don't want that guy anywhere near this team, and no it's not because of the comments he's made

I'm content with the goalie tandem already in place.
