Again, the people that killed themselves because of this are probably not much of a loss. But trying to kill the kids, that was unnecessary.

I am the only true prophet.

The problem is sometimes my line of communication gets fuzzy...Playing a game of "telephone" with god can sometimes be real tricky.

Oh you said,"she can't" not "she's a......"

See how that can happen sometimes?

you know what's really cool - color photography began in the 1840's - a full century earlier but they couldn't keep the color from fading after exposure to light.

I was shocked last night watching CNN's coverage from there and the mayor said 1500 people are still unaccounted for. 1500! The death toll was up to 164 last I saw but with that many still missing... I shudder to think the final count. It was especially depressing when he said after 48 hours the odds of finding someone alive was almost zero.

I wonder how many people are in basements that are just buried in debris and can't get out?

I dont know about you guys, but i live just north of Tornado alley in the Chicago Burbs. The first thing we did when we moved in 5 years ago was set up a tornado Shelter in our basement bathroom. Couple gallons of water, canned food w/can opener, some blankets, crank radio and flashlights.

You know how to work a rifle. You should do it. You'd be doing God's work by taking out a guy that's causing mass suicide. That would make you:

GOD'S ASSASSIN

...sounds like a summer blockbuster movie.

Pretty much. We like to think we have tamed Nature. Every so often she shows us who's really in charge.

well, we arent cavemen. there are plenty of sophisticated tools we use to thwart nature and rise above daily storms, occurences, etc. but yeah we arent prepared to deal with katrinas and the likes...i dont think we as a people pretend otherwise. theres a great line from mr burns about mother nature from the 're...cy...cling?' episode that would probably fit here.
