Are you saying the Canucks should be off until Wednesday regardless?
Because if you are, I think over a week off crosses the line between rest and rust.
I am. Isn't getting time off to rest/heal supposed to be one of the benefits of eliminating teams in fewer games? I know it's not a huge thing but it just bugs me. If I was Boston, though, and I managed to eliminate Tampa tonight, I'd be annoyed I don't get the couple extra days I earned for beating them in 6.
But I dunno, I don't see GM's and players complaing about it so obviously they don't think it's a big deal.
Tim Thomas has allowed 19GA in this series, in 6 games. He has been nothing short of brutal. He's lucky his team is able to outscore his struggles because the goalie on the other end is struggling even more.
Well that arguably could not have gone better for us; lots of doubt for each team and a Game 7...meaning we have until Wednesday to heal up.
Any legitimate concern about the extended layoff, ie rest vs rust?
I'm very happy about it. I just hope the boys are good to go game 1. Am driving out to Vancouver from Toronto on Saturday (moving home), arrive Tuesday night. Will be amazing to be home for the whole finals.
Whatever team wins Friday hope they're awful beat up...and certainly the CBC crew pretty down on both team's goaltending
All my life I've dreamed of going to a SCF game. I remember '94 as a tot, I was in Vancouver up until game 6 and then returned to Vancouver Island to watch Game 7 on TV. It was heartbreaking. I remember going out back to our backyard with my cousin and setting fire to some hockey cards (Brian Leetch, Mark Messier, and Mike Richter) and to this day I have the entire 1990-91 Pro-Set hockey set with the exception of those three cards.
It's still hard to fathom this is happening and that I'll be seeing a real live SCF game with my own eyes. Wow.
Rogers Arena is booked on June 1st for Supertramp and on the 3rd for Bruno Mars, no idea why the media keeps saying Wednesday. Get your facts straight.
I have a feeling that there will probably be at least one or two two-day rests in this series as they switch between Games 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. Thursday, Saturday in Vancouver...two-day rest, Tuesday, Thursday in either Boston or Tampa Bay, then another two-day rest and Game 5 in Vancouver on Sunday the 12th after the UFC has packed up and left.
Both teams look pathetic...no intensity...hardly any forecheck...hardly any speed...they are playing with regular season intensity. Canucks will blitz whoever they play and probably win 3 of the first 4 games...the rest will be history
