It's a suspended metal grid with holes in it, so the lights are up above it. We have the same design at our office in the waiting area.

One thing I wish they would have done because I think it looks so cool it the big metal doors that slid open when you approach them to get into the locker room. I think Van and a couple other teams have them.

Nice new room. Like the transporter array in the middle there. Handy to get to the gym.

btw, what is it with 1970 expansion teams and everyone whining on the main board every time a Canucks or Sabres fan makes a thread there? Seriously, It's annoying.

Honest question. What would you have done differently there?
More clearly, my question is what message are they sending by having some names large and some small and some in between? I understand wanting to break up the visual monotony by varying the size and placing the names seemingly randomly.

But I think there's something more powerful about uniformity, smaller text and more white space. Names could have been arranged by association, like they did at Ground Zero. Ted and Rick, the French Connection, Schoeny and Horton, the Knoxes, Ramsay-Luce-Gare etc.

Or, given that the names are already under the photos, maybe a meaningful quote would have been a better use of the space.

While your ideas are alright.... I like what they did...

As far as what message are they sending?.... It's a Wall of Fame ... what message you think they're trying to send?

You really think people are that shallow that they're going to be jealous because their name isn't as big as someone elses on a Wall of Fame? ... Most normal..humble people would just be honored to have their name there.

You read too much into ****.

I think the fact that some names are smaller and some larger is undressed of its potential meaning by which names are larger and smaller. Perreault is actually in pretty small text, some of the largest names are not the ones you would think if you were trying to establish some kind of visual hierarchy of the franchise's history. In that sense, even though the names are all Sabres Hall-of-Famers, it does send a bit of an anti-hierarchical message - one which seems to say, almost, that here the last may come first and the first may come last. Or in other words, every player, regardless of how lauded or talented, who puts in the effort to be great may end up being the greatest - like Max Talbot overshadowing Sidney Crosby in SCF Game 7, 2009. That would be the subtext I read from that message, if we're really going to read into what message the size of various names sends.

Liked all of it. The pics of the players above their lockers is probably a bit odd for them, but whatever. "Hey, look, there I am!"
