I'm basically looking to start off freshly with a new bank (Chequing, saving, etc.), looking for an account with no monthly fees (waived with minimum balance).

EDIT: yeah it`s way OT, I know lol
I had a similar situation when I graduated way back in '99, but with Scotiabank. I ended up switching to PC and have been there ever since. No minimum balance, no fees, free overdraft (up to $500), and because they're basically an affiliate of CIBC you use their machines at no cost. Only once since then I have been inconvenienced by not having a physical branch.

Highly recommend PC Financial.

No fees and best of all, when you move there is nothing to do. It follows you. I also have my mortgage through them as well.

When I did the mortgage thing, they sent a guy over to the house to sign all the paperwork etc. That is service!

We've been with TD for over 15 years and have no reason to leave...esp since we are grandfathered in on several accounts that keep fee's away that would otherwise normally require high balances etc.

I'm a CIBC employee and most of my accounts are still with TD Canada Trust. Go Green my friend.

Just giving the man a fair and unbiased opinion.

We often deal with other institutions for mutual clients. Dealing with TD is such a pleasure, and they run a very smooth ship internally. Proof is in the fact they've won the Synovate Award for the last 6 years in a row.

That name is kind of ironic... I drink at least 3 cups a day now it seems. It's a shame since we used to get it for free.
