If they're returned, I can't see the Dogs passing on keeping the Agozzino/Friesen/Pacan line together. I would say if Pacan or Friesen don't come back, Grondvalt is first on that list followed by Schwindt.
The rookies are going to have it in tough. I think Bateman is a lock, although... I don't rule him out as trade bait at the deadline, if the Dogs are considering a Memorial Cup run, and there is a big piece (Gudbranson?) available.
I also heard DiFrusia does not want to play until 2012/2013 season, which is why he fell to the Dogs. One of the few teams who had the patience to wait for him.

I believe Carter Verhaeghe is a lock as well. He was going to be their first round pick if Bateman didn't drop. Regarding DiFrusia he wants to go to the NCAA, he is going to prep school next year. He did mention that if he doesn't like it in the US he will potentially comeback and play in the O.
Seems like first rounder Bateman might not report. Doesn't like the ice time potential given the line-up in front of him on the depth chart...
Bateman actually doesn't have a problem reporting to Niagara. His agency is advising him that it may not be the best decision because he would probably not get enough ice time. That is probably true because Niagara's roster is pretty deep this season. It's still up in the air he may sign or get traded.

It wouldn't hurt the dogs so much if the kid wanted out. Like Lessio, get a massive deal for him + the extra 2012 1st rounder which will help the rebuild after their run.
Use the picks acquired in the Bateman deal to get a solid 18 or 19 year old

I think the kid is going to turn heads this year. He and Hamilton will make one of the most exciting 1-2 punches on D that the league has seen in recent history.
