I see no reason to trade stazz when his value is at an all time low besides we need him just to reach the cap floor. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him right now when his value is low and we won't get much in return. If we do trade him, I hope it's because radar, hishon, and duchene are tearing it up and stazz can get us that one more guy to put us over the hump in a few years.

Stastny's trade value isn't at an all time low, it's the same as it's ever been, really. The Avs have no reason at all to move him unless a deal comes along that they simply can't say no to. Otherwise, they'll be more than happy to keep him. That's why I get such a chuckle out of all the Stastny for picks/prospects/other crap proposals that have popped up over the last couple of months.

Next season, obviously, will need to be a better one for Staz. But I just can't see any reason to move him. He's not a flashy player, so what? He goes up against the top defenses every game and still produces. And to top it off, although a veteren on the Avs, he's still young.

Stastny needs to stay. Sakic taught him well imo. Sakic was never flashy either, lead by example.

Why is it at an all time low? Because he had a bad 2nd half? Like the rest of the team? He was on pace to equal or better his career totals until the 2nd half rolled around. He's still very capable of putting up top 10 center numbers(like he did two years ago, unless you forgot about that)while playing a solid 2 way game. He's worth more to the avs than he is to others, but his value is still quite high.

Yep. Guys like Ron Francis and Adam Oates weren't exactly flashy either, but they produced. Stastny will be just fine.

In his youth Sakic was quite the flashy player. He was a shooting threat and had the speed and hands to beat guys one on one.

Stastny doesn't have either of those talents so in terms of offensive game he's not a very multi-dimensional guy. Luckily we have Duchene.

Just because his value is at its lowest, however, doesn't mean it's below a certain threshold -- it is relative and the statement in of itself is completely accurate. Now, will Stastny be traded for Komisarek or Gomez or something along those lines anytime soon? I am 99% confident the answer is a resounding "no".

Buffalo might not even trade either individually for Stastny, let alone both. Thats ridiculous for them.

EDIT: Sorry didnt see the post above yours. You were obviously being sarcastic in response to his terrible offer. Sorry, carry on...

How is Ennis and Stafford terrible? Ennis has the potential to be better then Stastny and Stafford has the ability to score 40 goals.

Well when Stastny was Ennis' age he put up 78pts, and a Calder finalist, just sayin'. I'm not sure why you think Stafford has the ability to score 40. He's never been a big scorer at any level.

Well he managed to put up 30 in only 62 games. I d say a full season and he comes pretty close to 40.

His previous seasons goal totals were 14, 20, 16 and 13. This season he was also shooting at a 17.32%. I think that is much too high for Stafford to keep up. It's much more likely he is a regular 30 goal guy, if that.

I think most non-Avs fans would say "who is Joey Hishon?" Ennis has at least played a year of pro hockey.

If Sakic's shot was a 10, Staz's is about a 3, and Duchene's is about a 4 or 5. We really need someone with a decent shot again.
