Just a base deal, some other stuff might have to be added in but how does a Regehr for Connolly deal sound?

Tampa would get a top pairing, physical d-man to beef up their roster, and Calgary gets a young forward boosting a thin prospect pool for the future.

What would have to be added? Would one side not do it, or both?

I don't think Tampa would even consider it. Connolly is a top 10 league prospect on anyone's list. Giordano would be more realistic, but no way we can afford to give him up.

Why wouldn't Tampa just re-sign Eric Brewer who quickly became their #1 D-man? He's basically Regehr but with more offense.

More offense based on what?

EDIT: And why couldn't Tampa do both?

Ohlund - Brewer
Hedman - Regehr
Clarke - Whoever

Tampa makes their team that much better without subtracting any contributor to the team's success.

Brewer will command around 4 million to re-sign. Ohlund already has a solid cap hit, then toss in Regehr and a Hedman extension next year?

Pass.

Brewer is so ********** how can he even be CONSIDERED their best D, he's probably their worst D, he cant handle the puck, or shoot, or even pass. If the resign him that would be a HUGE waste of good money.

No thanks I'm not really a fan of connolly. I'd rather keep Regehr.

Guys, he's a Leaf fan, give him a break lol, they are famous for overrating/underrating players. If you ask them Luke Schenn is the next Scott Stevens lol
