Take the time to remember that this is not a free day off from work filled with 1100+ miles of racing but a day of duty for every citizen to remember those gave the last full measure in defense of this country. As for the men and women of Canada who served along side America at the time of need, thank you too. (Now quit trying to take our ****ing teams! )
I never met my grandfather who fought in the Pacific. He died from cancer before I was ever born. I am glad however that I got to meet my grandmother and great aunt, both who told me stories about the Great Depression as well as what they went through, the sacrifices they made during World War two.
I am thankful for the sacrifices everyone before me has made, and am thankful for the sacrifices that people now make for us.
