Salvador's possible return does not make White redundant. If anything, Salvador is the redundant one.

Sally is a good warrior, but I have no idea what we're going to do with him.

We need to get younger and more skilled on the blueline, with Urbom and possibly drafting Larsson, I don't think he will be playing for the Devils next season.

Can he be buried in the minors? I don't think he's gonna be tradeable after this injury.

Yes, but I think the team will first ascertain whether he can be useful at the NHL level before burying him.

I know, but even if he can still play in the NHL I'd rather give one of the younger guys his spot.

nobody's seen him play a game yet and he's getting put out to pasture... lol. I remember White getting the same treatment a few years ago and he was our best Dman last year.

White didn't sit out a year with a potentially career ending injury. I'm not saying Salvador can't bounce back as good as ever, but I think it's more likely he doesn't.

His eye injury and pirate jokes say hello. 2 months out of the lineup and a shaky return had popular opinion bouncing him out of the league. The following year he returned to form. Very similar situation to this one imo.

Wait and see - especially with a warrior type like Sal.

I'm confident he can return to form, the question is do we really need him?

It is possible he returns to form, but concussions are very serious.

Someone please change the title of this to read;

Salvador cleared for Trade/AHL/Retirement

The last thing this team needs is an Eric Lindros on the blueline.

I sincerely hope for his sake he packs it up before he turns his brains to mush.

Could see this being about showing other possible teams that he's cleared and will be working out all summer to get back into playing shape after missing an entire year. I think Lou could try to move Sal and his salary cap hit to a team for a conditional pick based upon the number of games he plays.

For example, possible teams like Detroit or Buffalo could use a veteran Dman on a 1 year contract. If he plays at least 40 games, we get a 2nd rounder from Detroit, if not, we get a 3rd rounder.

That would be overpayment by Detroit.

Sal is a bit of a mystery right now. How healthy will he be in October? No one really knows, so it's a moot point. I'm happy he's getting better through, the guy is a warrior and he had a pretty scary concussion.

The cap issues will work themselves out eventually, it's no use getting bent out of shape over it.
