"I'm 100 per cent sure you're going to see both of them," DeGray said. "I'm excited about having two pretty good imports in the lineup."
Owen Sound traded a sixth-round pick in the 2013 OHL draft to Kitchener for the 40th import pick on Wednesday and used that to select Swedish left-winger Michael Schumacher.
"I think there was some disappointment with where he was last year and how he was developing, so I think that's why they want him to come over," said DeGray, who was pointed at the Los Angeles seventh-round pick by Kings director of scouting and former Attack GM Mike Futa.
"This all came to be (Tuesday) when I got an e-mail. I had a different guy on the hook but I have a rapport with Mike and I thought 'let's use that.' "
I wonder if there is any reason in particular that the Kings foreign players always go to the OHL when they come over.
(this one being a little more obvious then others)
Probably just has to do with connections to the OHL. Our scouts are from that league so they still have ties there. I remember Pushkarev played in the WHL for Calgary but since DL has come in most have been playing in the OHL.
I'm just glad that they are going to the CHL for at least one season. Really wish Lauri Tukonen had played one season there to get some confidence and round out his game vs fellow teenagers.
Kings 2010 6th round pick Kevin Gravel along with 1st round pick Derek Forbort received invites to the 2011 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp.
The right side is locked down for likely a very long time. Williams, Brown, and Simmonds will be the order probably for the next three seasons at least, the only possible exception being if Simmonds ends up getting packaged for a heavy talent, especially given his step back this season.
No chance that would ever happen...
We've got a number of VERY intriguing seasons coming up in LA and Manchester. I can't wait!
Hammond confirmed the other day that Kitsyn is back in Russia and will fulfill the remaining 2 years on his KHL contract.
"I am looking forward to when I am making the Kings and am very happy to have been there". "I look forward to doing the same again and being a player in the NHL"
Kitsyn has a few very personal reasons for returning to the KHL but will be back and wants to make his career in North America and really wants to be a King. He learned allot during his time here.
Just a thought, I noticed Garret Roe just finished his last year with St. Cloud. . . wondering if he'll get a ELC since we're a little weak on LW's . . especially since Holloway is going to Europe

Sadly, I doubt the Kings will give Roe a deal. Last week, I found (what looks like) Roe's Twitter account. The dude talks more about golf than he does hockey.
Hey, call me crazy, but shouldn't we be seeing tweets akin to "can't wait for the Kings prospect camp", or "training hard to be part of the Kings organization".....? I don't think his heart is in it.

Does anyone know how Forbort has been doing here lately? From what I've read, he hasn't stood out at all the past few games for USA, but if anyone has a more detailed analysis, please share it. Kind of worrisome that some 2011 draftees have been outplaying him (again, based on what I've read).

Forbort is still very raw. He's definitely going to take time to develop into an NHLer, if he ever does. He also battled with mono this year which probably set him back a bit.

I know he's gonna take awhile to make the big club and all (probably three or four years), but he made USA last year and I at least expect him to be better than some of the newbies this year. Maybe he is, idk.

Forbort isn't a flashy player. Thats what grabs peoples attention is the flashy plays and I don't think he brings that. Don't fall victim to that.

But he's not strictly a defensive defenseman, he plays a two-way game. He doesn't need to be flashy, but has he at least been generating some opportunities or something?
NoDak was pretty deep on the back end. Most guys were either playing on the PK or PP but few on both. Forbort was put in a defensive role as part of the team's shutdown unit with Ben Blood. He also didn't play on the PP at the WJCs. He should get more offensive opportunities next year.
