Buffalo/AtlantaPeg

Contingent on Buffalo being unable to sign Brad Richards -

To :thrashers

Brad Boyes
2nd Round Pick '12 (Conditional - Boyes gets 45 points. Otherwise, 3rd round pick)

To

Nik Antropov

The Sabres fill a void with Connolly's decline/most likely departure, as well as getting a much needed top-6 centerman, while AtlantaPeg gets a much needed top-6 RW, while saving $5MM in actual dollars.

Thoughts?

Done from Atlanta point of view. We need a right wing badly.
Buffalo needs a center, both make the same money and produce at a very similar ppg pace over the past few seasons.
Good trade

Take out the 2nd and it's closer. Boyes' one year is easier to swallow than Antropov's two years.

Get out of my brain!

Agree completely. The term on Antropov's deal isn't worth Buffalo having to add an asset when the Thrashers get the benefit of being out from under the deal next summer.

most fans have already agreed a Boyes/Antro swap would be acceptable...no need for the pick,.

I would view Antropov's value as perhaps slightly higher than Boyes, so Atlantapeg gets that 2nd round pick, but then Buffalo gets Atlantapeg's 3rd round pick.

That might work if it was a sticking point to the deal. I'd rather they try to use 2011 picks rather than 2012. Granted, Buffalo doesn't have a 2nd...

Agreed.

This deal makes a lot of sense. Have Buffalo get ATL / WPG's 2012 3rd, and ATL / WPG gets Buffalo's 2012 2nd.

Just remove the pick and I can live with that trade.

How about we just give you a lower pick than a 2nd and you don't send back any? The player value may be a little off but not so much as to warrant a pick as high as a 2nd in a strong draft.

Thomas Vanek Nik Antropov Drew Stafford

How about no. You just had to ruin it by including Morrisonn.

Going to have to call Antro first. He has a modified no trade clause according to capgeek.

Really not interested in Antropov at all. I'd rather hold onto Boyes and let Hecht play center than goes this direction.
