I don't think I would do this.. The difference between Bergeron and Hemsky is no where near the difference between 1st and 9th.

Although I will say that Bergeron is a guy we would really love to have and need.

If Bergeron had no history of concussions, then maybe. He does. As a result, despite Hemsky's injury issues, it's not a good deal.

Mo concusions, mo happiness. I wouldn't do that deal as an oiler fan. Bergeron is better, but the drop off from 1 to 9th is pretty big, at least on paper.

If Dougie Hamilton somehow managed to fall to 9th I might do it, but obviously you can't trade the 1st pick and guess what'll be at 9th.

As an Oiler fan I'd take this with careful consideration.

It's hard to pass up on a chance to move Hemsky for something of value, but Bergeron is another glass cannon who worries me. He's a terrific player, nonetheless.

Would be funny if Boston manages to turn another Toronto first round pick into a top 2 selection

I can't think of anyone who would be expendable but still good enough to package with a 9th overall for a lottery pick.

I think that the oil would be fools to take that deal. Nugent-hopkins will be a great player and the player we get at nine is a crap shoot. Hemsky for Bergeron is a wash in my mind because they both have had injury filled careers to date. Bergeron is the better player, but not so much better as to pass up the first overall pick.

A more logical deal would be

Spezza and the 6th for Hemsky and the 1st.

The oilers get the number one center they need as well as one of Huberdeau, Hamilton or Murphy.

The Sens get the first overall pick as well as Hemsky. They get to add a Number one center closer in age to their up coming core and cut salary by a ton.

Garbage from the Bruins point of view. Why even take the time to make a thread that you know is a waste.

This doesn't seem like it's going anywhere productive.
