Arbitration: Zednik and Huet how much will they get?

Zednik and Huet are the only two Habs players who filed for arbtration. How much do you think they will get?
I'll say Zednik-2.8 million a year and Huet 1.2 million.

Arbtration salaries are for one season, a team must negotiate to extended it further.

A one year deal with Huet is smart on Montreal's part, just incase Danis is NHL ready next season.

Zednik could be signed to someting longer though. $2.5 is good enough for a player who is strictly a scorer only, and a spotty one at that sometimes.

Zednik's 50 points will hurt him IMO. I can't see him getting more than 2.5 million. There are so many players out there who have produced just as much if not more for about 2 million and I am sure the Habs will bring up those players (Sturm, Dumont, Modin, etc)

Huet, if he is indeed going to arbitration, would probably get 600-700 K.

Can someone explain to me how Huet can go to arbitration when he signed a two year deal with the Kings before he was traded.

There was a thread on this a bit earlier, not exactly sure myself but from what i've read they agreed to a contract but never signed and the kings never sent out a press release about the contract with his name, because of the trade maybe, anyway somthing of that sorts.

That's pretty much how all of the Kings press releases are worded, the website only reports hard facts with regards to player transactions.

Zednik = 2.4
Huet = 0.8

Zednik will earn less because he don't put lost of assists on the board. 2.4 seems fair for a good goalscorer that don't play a complete game.

They are actually for one or two years. I believe that the team is given two options. If you look at most players who have gone to arbitration in recent years you will see that that two-year deals are more common.
