I told you, he's our top prospect.

We wouldn't dream of letting a top prospect just walk away right.

Says it all about our prospect pool when a bad-decent prospect is our best prospect, though, doesn't it?

Bad-decent prospects are worth their weight in Carters. 40 goal scorers grow on trees after all.

True enough. We are desperately short in intangibles and truculence though. Any team that has players with those things, that we could perhaps make out some trades with?

Here's a video of Couturier at Team Canada WJC camp from someone in the Prospects section.

He's 16 in white, has a nice chance at the end.

From Edmonton papers - World Junior prospect camp:
Sean Couturier didn’t impress with acceleration but covered a lot of ice when in stride; on Thursday, however, Couturier looked rusty and struggled with the puck at times while creating little magic during the time I was watching him.

I've heard otherwise.

Couturier with a partial shorthanded breakaway on a turnover. Heard three times already today that he is pro ready. Definitely looks it.

Couturier now creating offense down a man. Looking like he could push top two lines for Philly. Would love to see him with Wayne Simmonds!

Sean Couturier getting rave reviews so far today at #WJHC camp. Will be interesting to see how he fits in Philly with Schenn there too. #NHL

Schenn is number 1 on ESPN's top 10 prospects.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nhl/story...n-schenn-leads
Quote:
1. Brayden Schenn, Philadelphia Flyers
No. 5 overall pick, 2009 draft
This center will find a way to stick in the NHL after Philly's trades of Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. After leading Canada to a silver medal at the World Jr. Championships and proving to be an elite junior player for the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL, he brings a solid two-way game to the Flyers. (He nearly cracked the Kings' lineup last season before being traded). He has the skills and offensive touch to make an immediate impression, and while his skating quickness needs to improve, this will not hold him back. The Flyers are clearly ready to move in a different direction, and he comes into the fold at the right time.

Got a question to someone that can answer it. If I remember correctly, you need to play in 4 junior seasons or be 20 years old to be considered to play on the AHL team. Ranford technically played in 4 seasons, playing 3 games in 2007-2008. Is that considered 4 seasons?

maybe it is just his stature but does Akeson remind anyone else of Pelle Eklund?

Akeson puts on a show. He is better known for his vision/passing but he can pot a few too.

I'm confused about Legein. I would have thought he played all three years of his ELC. Does that first year when he "retired" and came back not count or did I miss something else? Thanks for any info.

Joonas Lehtivuori will apparently be on a try out with MoDo of the SEL.

http://www.modohockey.se/nyheter.cfm?nyhet=6099&rows=5

That team has a few former NHLers on their roster, Freddy Meyer and Tollefsen on the back end for instance. It is the youth team of guys like Markus Näslund, the Sedin twins, Niklas Sundström and of course Peter Forsberg. Näslund is the GM this season. Full roster looks like this

http://www.eliteprospects.com/team.php?team=9

Another former property of the Flyers is Patrik Hersley... though he wasn't even good enough for the Phantoms. He was a part of the trade that sent Gauthier and a 2nd rounder to the Kings I believe. After a few years in the Swedish tier II he's gotten a chance with MoDo for this season.
