So I guess they will only be in Toronto.

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed somewhere.

It's great for me since I don't have Sportsnet HD.

So TVA sports = Sportsnet in French ?

By the way, it's already entertaining: Nilan vs Perron

I see a blog from Patrick Caisse on their website. Isn't that the same guy who had the fake scoop of Frolov coming to Montreal? I may be confusing names (if so, my apologies to Patrick Caisse) but if not, that's an amateurish move from tvasports.ca. I would think a serious business would stay away from this type of "reporting".

I hate to be intolerant but I don't find this very serious from tvasports. Good for him, I guess.

Quebecor and amateurish go hand in hand.

How is their sports new bulletin (Le TVA Sports IIRC)?

Is it better or worse than Sport30? In HD?

Yep, that's the guy. At that time (Frolov's "done deal"), he was already on Québécor's payroll: his blog previously was on www.canoe.ca. Looks like they moved his blog from Canoe to TVA Sports. Typical Québécor "recycling".

Exhibit A, your Honor:

they had a piece on Marcel Aubut last night, explaining how he was instrumental in Labeaume/Péladeau getting "private and intimate meetings" with Bettman. (I think they're still playing it this morning.)

That's poor investigative reporting. We're entitled to know just how intimate these meetings got

for everyone saying it will compete with rds, just fyi rds has an exclusive contract with the habs (preseason, season, playoffs, events) for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 at least.

In the whole Quebecor media universe, TVA sports is brilliant compared to the redneck job of Sun TV.

From what I hear TVA will be better than RDS, but I switched to Bell, and I'm very happy.

I get 74 Habs games in English, I don't even have RDS anymore. Why pay for a French package for 8 games that I will watch at Boston Pizza or the Cage aux Sports.

TVA seems to be on the right track though, but will never be available to Bell customers. I just hope TSN2 will cover the Impact games, at least the ones on the road.

Hope they are going to get rights to CIS Football (and other sports too). Games are sometimes on Radio-Canada, but only afternoon games. It's really a shame that tonight's game between Laval and Sherbrooke (for first place in Canada) isn't televised while Montreal VS Saint Mary's this afternoon was.

I would hate if Radio-Canada lost CIS as well.

Well, I don't care if Radio-Canada keeps it, but having that game (either on TV or on Web stream) would have been awesome, especially considering the stakes

I've watched a bit of TVA sports, aside from the Jays game, it is all BS. Le match is painful to watch, same with their show at 5pm. Unfortunately, I have to keep it for some junior action (Memorial Cup).

Actually, I like Le TVA Sports.

I think it's a good news show.

Whats the point of having the Jays on TVA. All 162 games are already on Sportsnet in Montreal and like 50 Boston games. Just seems redundant.

Unless you have to absolutely have to watch in French, but baseball is American, it's better in English. Except for our man that should go to the hall of fame....Denis Cassavat, hey we even got him in English on the Team990 morning show. He's a great guy A great man!

The point is that lot of people in Quebec relate to games transmitted in french. And lot of peole used to love Brulotte and Doucet back in the Expos days. And they think, and it's not bad, that people would want to identify themselves to a team than just watch games like that especially Baseball.

Frankly, it's the best idea they could have had regarding baseball and the interest we have around here.

Not sure when TVA will start to be complacent, but at this time, they're doing everything RDS stopped doing for quite some time. Strange isn't it that the year RDS has some competition, they finally seems to listen to their customers and give a lot of Habs preseason games. Some will say that Habs had a role in this before....true....but why not now? 'Cause the Habs also changed their philosophy? Maybe. But I tell you, you will find that from now on, RDS will suddenly try harder on all accounts. And it's no coincidence.
