I don't think much will change. According to the TSN piece so he's Director of Hockey Operations and thus still in a conflict of interest, free to send e-mails to subordinates about calls against Gregory which he didn't see.

Ya, sounds like a big 'let's calm everybody down' move. It will all depend on how much Shanahan will/can stand for what he thinks and act accordingly. Then again, him knowing personally a whole bunch of the players in the league isn't great either.

The fact that a single person is responsible for this is a big joke to begin with.
