MIN and WPG

one of them own for one of our own

actually serious here,

Cam Barker

for

Mark Stuart but would love to get Wheeler

This works in the sense that Wild save some $ on contract while getting a decent defensive dman, WPG gets a guy who can contribute on O and is from MAN.

Not sure what Wild would have to add to get Wheeler but would love to have him

I would rather keep Stuart. Barker has a tonne of upside, but I can't see him getting there. From what I have seen of him in the off season back in Winnipeg, he spends to much time on the sauce. I could be wrong, but when Zajac comes home for the summers, he is focused on family and training; I just don't see the same commitment from Barker.

As much as it would be nice to start trading for hometown boys, I would not make this trade from a WPG perspective.

Stuart has looked very good since joining the Thrashers and provides a much needed physical presence on the back end. He also is signed to a very nice 3 year deal at 1.7 million per year.

It didn't take Winnipeg long to start getting hosed on deals. Stuart is much more consistent and the kind of defenseman Winnipeg is going to need. Barker on Winnipeg will be a train wreck.

I don't think I've seen one honest proposal for Winnipeg yet.

I'd like to see the new Manitoba team trade for another Manitoban that the Wild have - Justin Falk. What would it take to get him?

Everyone is trying to make up for 15 lost years of bad Winnipeg proposals.
