TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
At this point, Mark NcNeill leads all prospects with 13 on bench press (150 lbs). Oleksiak next at 12. RNH had strong showing with 6.

RNH with 6 after a long day of work outs is extremely impressive IMHO.

Edmonton's offense is going to absolutely downright nasty in a few years if they pick him.

Landeskog is jacked. McKenzie tweeted that many people agree he and Larsson are the closest physically to NHL Ready.

McNeill is a physical specimen.

Skill and grit to go with it.

Leslie, any thought on which players the rangers will invite to NY?

As of now, no. Only a little more than half have been tested.

How much will it matter with only 1 pick in the top 120? One can only hope the rangers will be more active on draft day

should we have a "who should NYR draft?" thread?

or if there is one, can someone link me to it. - would be good to discuss pros/cons of each player

i like the look of Mark McNeill - great physical specimen

Considering we need a top 6 player, i'm very interested in seeing who we draft in the first. I couldn't care less if we only have one pick if it's a good player.

I could be wrong but isn't that not all that impressive compared to years past? I'm thinking guys like Wilson a year or so back. Dint they rep out 175 like 18 times or something?

Wilson was a real standout. I don't know if these numbers are below the usual standard, but Wilson was an exceptional physical specimen at the combine from what I recall.

At the NHL draft combine thinking what Gretzky said: “When I scored 90 goals I could do 10 situps. When I could do 90 situps I scored 10 goals.”

Does McNeil really have any skill to be a top six player to go along with his size? I worry a lot when people start getting excited about a guy at the combine because he's in good hsape

If he doesn't have a pretty good shot at being a top six player the Rangers shouldn't be biting at all

It's iffy if he has that kind of skill.

My day 2 testing entry on the blog is at http://hfrangersblog.com/2011/06/04/combine-wrap-up/

He maxes out as at borderline second-third liner, but a steady third liner is his likely future.

All those people who think he will be the next Tkachuk are deeply confused. He will be a good or a great role player, depending on his development. But he will not be that scorer this team needs.

Except Gretzky was and is the Great One.

Notwithstanding the game has changed. It's bigger and faster, more dangerous. You need to be stronger to survive in this NHL.

I'm hearing that McNeil is the next Ryan Getzlaf. If thats the case, I grab him. If he is a 3rd line player, I pass and think outside the box and draft a Grimaldi, one of the russian kids, phillips, schiefele, Biggs, Jensen.

But I stay @ 15 unless the trade back deal is too good to pass up.

Those are my three, as well.

If we can't get any if them trading down and picking up a second round pick would be good.

But Sather and Clark never trade down, so im not sure that's a real option.

Should be interesting to see who they invite back to NY.

Well McNeill has more upside then Biggs.

Although, Biggs plays similarly to Callahan. So Biggs may not be a bad option if we can't get one of our guys.

I don't think they'll take Khokhlachev, even though they should consider him.

Zibanejad
McNeill
Scheifele
Khokhlachev
Armia
Biggs
Miller

Id trade up for the first three names. And id take any of those others at #15.

If I can't get higher-end talent, then I go safe.

I do not expect Grimaldi to be the pick. I will not say any more about it, but that is my info.
