You should pick up a phone with a slide out keyboard then!

Also, give Swype a shot, godly one handed texting speed.

I did Swype for a while, but couldn't text while driving with it. LOL.

I currently use SwiftKey.

Site ownership hasn't been receptive to apps. Feel that they're difficult to monetize, require constant updates, fragmented across different platforms, etc. That's what I was told.

Makes sense i guess, you just sounded like it would give the site cancer or something.

Oh, haha, nah.

I'd love if we utilized Tapatalk. For it to happen, I guess, people need to keep requesting it. Not my call though.

mobile version is awesome....except for the ads

stupid question, if you become a sponser does it get rid of the ads on the mobile site as well?

i used to use the full version all the time but it was a pain in the ass resizing and scrolling all the time....the simplicity of the mobile site is awesome

You're obviously rooted. Might I suggest Ad Free from the market? It blocks all advertisements from loading when you are browsing.

Makes it faster as a result.

I already run AdFree, though I appreciate the suggestion. And as a mod/sponsor, ads are disabled anyway.

It's mainly just things like the avatars, scrolling marquee at the top, stuff like that. Things I don't need to see when just trying to read the boards from my phone.

The, uh, what?

I'm still using an ancient Palm Centro and this is a nice upgrade. Hate if you want, but the thing works seamlessly with my company's ancient IT infrastructure. Not very HF friendly though.

I was told similar about a year ago

It's been looked into and won't be approved by our IT dept. until it's more stable. It isn't practical for use on a large network yet due to the frequency of bug fix and maintenance releases.
Still think it should be looked into. There are Android, iOS, Blackberry apps and they are developing for WebOS and Windows Phone. There are a few larger forums that I view that use tapatalk and it's so much easier.

Saw this yesterday on the way home, and thought it was a mistake, a good mistake, but a mistake.

Glad they have the new version up and running. Much easier to get used to and follow.

good job to who ever designed it

Meh. I despise the mobile version of any website. What's the point of having a smart phone if I'm getting the dumbed down version?

Because you're not sitting at a desk looking at a 19" monitor with lots of surface area to display everything at an adequate size for your eyes to view comfortably?
