I can not and will never get used to typing on a phone where I can't actually feel the buttons. I can text at the speed of sound without even looking at the keyboard on my BB, but put an Iphone in my hand and it takes me years to text.
You should pick up a phone with a slide out keyboard then!
Also, give Swype a shot, godly one handed texting speed.
Did you ever try viewing HF's full version on the stock BlackBerry browser? It, uh, sucked. And many people can't run other browsers on their work BB. So the mobile view was essential.
I have a Droid X, with a custom ROM, overclocked to 1.3GHz. It renders sites fantastically well, and very fast--and yet, I still preferred the mobile view. Too much extraneous information on the full version that I don't care to see when browsing on my phone.
You're obviously rooted. Might I suggest Ad Free from the market? It blocks all advertisements from loading when you are browsing.
Site ownership hasn't been receptive to apps. Feel that they're difficult to monetize, require constant updates, fragmented across different platforms, etc. That's what I was told.
I was told similar about a year ago
It's been looked into and won't be approved by our IT dept. until it's more stable. It isn't practical for use on a large network yet due to the frequency of bug fix and maintenance releases.
Still think it should be looked into. There are Android, iOS, Blackberry apps and they are developing for WebOS and Windows Phone. There are a few larger forums that I view that use tapatalk and it's so much easier.
