Watching Girioux score that onetimer today makes me sad knowing we had three or four players on this team capable of scoring like that...ovie lets use a 90 flex or something tonight bud ok?

Ovechkin finally got left open like that and actually got a pass, but his stick broke...
Girouxs name is getting old though... Bruins knocked him and Briere around and they combined for a magnificent 2A -8.
Ovechkin had the same wideopen pass off the left circle twice within two shifts..first one fanned second broken twig.
Was that last year? His name may be old but hes stepped up his game big time. I just want to see our big guns get going.
Ovechkin hasn't been particularly consistent with his one-timers from that spot for the past two seasons. That's pretty obvious unless you have extremely thick homer glasses on.
Giroux is earning every bit of the hype he's getting right now. He's a complete threat offensively in just about every situation. The Penguins tried to goon it up and he basically put them out of their misery with his hit and goal on the 1st shift in game 6.
I really would like if Ovechkin - bäckström - Johansson line would actually play whole game.. They were dominating last portion of the game and Ovechkin looked really really good.. And that way you use that 10+ millions properly..
Does anyone else see McDonagh as a Bourque clone? And I thought Girardi kind of looked like Rob Blake. How do you think we'll adjust to this pairing tonight?

Del Zotto is the one to worry about. Bobby Orr right there.

Don't really think you're being generous enough with those comparisons, Bourque? McDonaghs like that on speed with a better attitude and more skill. Girardi? He's like if Lidstrom was mean as **** and actually won something in his career
Gotta work tonight bringing my mac to work though taking my break right at the start of the game
Wait is Semin actually playing on the fourth line? Yeah he had a rough game or whatever but if so that's the final nail in Hunters coffin for me, what a god damn tool
Thinking it over I am a tad concerned about OV's comment that he has "100%" more room to work than he did against Boston. He can't be the only one that thinks that. Does that mean some on the team will take liberties with DFH's system to try and take advantage of their percieved added freedom? We will find out tonight.

Like I said in the other thread, Hunter's done that to Semin in practice before only to have him play on the 2nd line.
100% more room means nothing when you flub your best scoring chances. We will struggle to win if he can't connect on his PP one timers. Maybe he is rusty from low TOI, or was over anxious, but I also think he should be able to connect on one timers in day 1 of training camp.
Maybe he should try catching one tonight, and then shooting. Obviously one timers are not easy, but its also not the only way to score. Had he scored, that would have probably meant the end of Coin on PP1. I suspect he will be back tonight, trying not to get hit by an Ovi one timer.
Rangers already won the series, cause they beat the Caps in star power, goalie, defense, coach special teams, crowd, city, arena, state, location, etc.
