Dallas better not resign him. He's done.

Except this one.

And this one.

He had a bad year and was on the unfortunate side of two teams. He was traded from an underachieving Devils team to an overachieving Stars team. His departure wasn't the cause of the Devils turnaround (although some Devil fans will swear otherwise) and he wasn't the cause of the Stars decline.

I think he can still be a 50 point player. I can see him taking a 1 year deal for 2-2.5 with someone. Hopefully Dallas.

Lol he managed to cap-size two teams in one season...

Stars were in 2nd in the divison before he came, then they lost the playoffs.

The Devils were 10-29-2 with him, then went 23-4 in the subsequent 27 games after trading him

Bc Richards getting concussed and Neal being traded had nothing to do with why dallas fell out of tops in the west.

Lemaire taking the reigns back and kovalchuk going on a tear in the latter half of the season obviously was bc langenbrunner left.

I hope that is the impression among nhl gm's. The pens will gladly have him on sid or malkin's RW. Guy was a 60+ pt player two seasons previous.

He'd be a decent replacement for Sturm in DC.

Goligoski put up way bigger numbers than Neal after the trade so I don't think that hurt them much, but Richard's injury obviously did.

I was a huge fan of Langenbruner's and was leading the charge for the Pens to trade for him last year, but I have to admit that I think he's done at this point. Hopefully I'm wrong and he bounces back for someone next year.

2 seems a bit high for what he brings nowadays, but imagine he'll have a handful of one year offers to consider.

Guy was such a beast in the olympics, hard to explain how his play fell from so high this year.

I still feel dallas doesnt have a forechecking presence to replace neal. Benn is more talented but doesnt bring what neal brought for richards and eriksson. Now that richards is gone welk see how benn does as a center full time.

Langenbrunner went from a terrible situation that only was going to get better to a team that was bound to come back to reality.

You dont go from a 69 and 61 pt season to what he had this year just by age, his situation had alot to do with it. Id still take him at a 2 mil cap hit.

Lemaire only agreed to come back on the condition that Langenbrunner was traded.

Show me a quote or valid site that said that. I know of lemaire benching him the previous season but the fact lemaire asked another player to wear the C is pretty ****** up.

Mario Tremblay who was Jacques assistant in NJ during the 09-10 season told montreal radio a few times that Jamie had the locker room turned all upside down.

I will take him on the Oil for 1-2yrs at 1.5-2million. The oil need guys like this as role players and vet leaders. Add in a Reasoner type and a guy in the same ilk as Eager/Glass and someone like Wiz/Hejda. The Oil are not a playoff team but they wouldn't be a laughing stock for the next couple of years while allowing the youth to maturate in the NHL.

Langenbrunner's certainly not done. That's a tad harsh.

I don't think he'll have another 60+ point season ever again because he's getting older, but he's been blamed a lot for things I don't see him being all at fault for. The Devils were an underachieving team riddled with injuries that had to fire MacLean, hire Lemaire, plus deal with the aftermath of the Kovalchuk saga and didn't dress a full lineup some nights. The Devils had a fair share of bad luck this year and Langenbrunner could be blamed for some of it but not close to all of it.

He then gets traded to an overachieving Stars team that got hot at the wrong time unfortunately for them and he gets the blame.

There will be quite a few teams interested in him this summer. Veteran with 2 Stanley Cups and who led Team USA to Olympic Silver. That enough will attract interest as a role player, nevermind his still decent offensive capabilities.

Lou wanted trade Langenbrunner in training camp, but he wouldn't waive his NTC. Lou asked him again in December and he agreed to waive it. Then came Lemaire. Then on January 7, Langenbrunner was traded.

Holmgren will sign him if no one else will. He wanted him really bad, but Lou didn't want to trade him to the rival Flyers, supposedly.
