I think his rights will be dealt to Toronto. Glen probably knows the situation and is really low-balling Dallas so they won't accept (like at the deadline). Brad will probably want to help Dallas out by getting them something in return, which Toronto will almost certainly offer. No matter who his rights are dealt to, I don't see him not hitting UFA. He seems pretty excited about the process.

They haven't made in the playoffs in years and will be lucky to even get into the playoffs next year.

Forget the Cap Space, it's just not a suitable place for him to go.

Toronto should look elsewhere to get a slightly younger #1 Center so that the team can grow.

If Colorado really wants to get ride of Stastny, I think they should go after him instead.

Toronto's ****ed up the re-build/re-tool once. Don't do it again thinking your closer to a Cup than you are.
yeah i actually agree some what. I would way rather a young centre like Stastny or someone else... but the reality is, he most likely isn't available. Richards IS available. Richards may not see Toronto as a better place to win then some other teams you mentioned... but we are a playoff team with Richards in my most unbiased opinion. Richards - Kessel - Kulemin is a legit first line and the Grabovski line is as good as any second line as any in the league.

Buffalo Sabres are a contender?

Go ahead and start a poll asking people, "Are the Buffalo Sabres contenders?" and see what kind of response you receive, I dare you.

Buffalo is a serious injury to Miller away from a lottery pick.

Apparently "incarcerated bob" is legit..

Didn't he get the Kaberle, Versteeg, Wizniewski trade correct?

A bunch of NBA/MLB trades too, no?

He's had more NHL misses than hits trust me. Last year he was saying the the Rangers were getting Iginla (posted on our board about it) and also said the other week that carter to the leafs was "80% done".

you said toronto messed up the re build and we should go after a younger centre like statsny. i dont disagree but i would rather give a second or third round pick instead of a 1st and a few top prospects for statsny, they biggest assett we have is money...why not try richards and give up less.

Richards will want a long deal most likely, since he is slowly exiting his prime and this might be his chance to cash in. Signing him might mean letting go of players later on in the rebuild. I see what your saying but if he ends up slipping in Toronto, he might be worth nothing as he ages and has a bad contract, therefore leaving us with cap problems later on.

*************** isn't a "credible source", I agree.

But what makes me laugh is people saying "He isn't a credible source" and then referencing a Steve Simmons article about BR "not wanting to play in Toronto" as if it were a "credible source".

That's humorous, you probably watch, what, 6 Sabres games a season?

Is Buffalo a contender with the current roster? No. Could Buffalo contend with a legit #1 center, and a solid shutdown d man? Maybe...

Did he directly say that? or did he just say he won't comment because he is still under contract with Dallas.

looks good to me.
That would be one of the top 5 lines in the NHL next year

I'd still put my money on Tampa or Detroit.
It'd be fun to have him back but realistically he would have to ease up on the money side of things.

With the cap space Tampa has now and Gagnes 5+ coming off the books there is 14 mil in cap, add another 3.5 for stamkos (total of a little over 7) and you have 11 there, and you can drop Jones/MAB/etc and it gets even better. Smith takes a cut. More cash there.

Its very possible.

Yeah ok 2 probable 40 goal scorers inbetween a 90 point centerman. Kulemin adds defense to line. No sarcasm that would be a hell of a line. Hopes it happens so I can boast posted here first.

No he isn't, but that rumor was true, just that Kaberle didn't waive

I wonder what the price would be?

If it's anything significant, no thanks. I would rather gamble on trying to sign Richards against other teams on July 1st, than trading valuable assets to try and get an edge.
