Theres 4 players that really stand out to me as 95's on the flyers. Dallaire, Bradley, Johnson, and macdonald.

from the group you posted there i like both poirier and eagle. Both are smart with the puck, and i see eagle won top defense man at the atlantics.

The Flyers may do really well. Their #4&5 D-men have really stepped up in the playoffs. Everyone knows defense win championships. With 5 solid blue liners they have a shot for sure.

Please give me opinions on these players as I have heard lots of different things about all them and disagree with some of it...
someone who deserves to be drafted is zach beaton '95. He is a great worker and had a very good Atlantics. probably had the best Alantics of his team

I agree as well. I'm not sure why this boy is even on the radar? He is small, and so is his dad hence there's not much likelihood that he will grow to be 6'. There's nothing special about his skating or skill for his size...there's a 1000 Quebec kids just like him. If he would have tore up the league this year maybe...

Eagle had a great weekend at the Atlantic. Moved the puck well and pinched in at the right time. He looked very good. I heard that Poirier suffered a groin injury in the Fredericton series and still not healed 100%. Similar to L. Beckwith.

Just a longtime coach, hockey dad and hockey fan (not a scout) but for the sake of discussion here are the Midget players I saw this year in the NSMMHL that have a chance at the draft. I've tried to show my predictions of where they might be picked with a 3 round buffer in brackets. Names are shown alphabetically, by team.

There are a lot of names noted (34 + 18 mentions) and there is no way all will get picked considering the quality players also coming out of NL, NB and PEI. I think typically anything over 35-40 Atlantic players being picked in the Q draft is a good year for this region so likely no chance of 30-40 getting picked from NS alone. Good luck to all the players in June.

Pictou Weeks:
Hanes - '95 - F (5-7th)
Lynds - '96 - F (3-5th)
Pugsley - '96 - F (4-6th)
* Mentions - Feener '95G, Johnston '96F, MacCallum '95G,

Cole Harbour:
Anthony - '96 - D (3-5th)
Knockwood - '95 - F (10-12th)
Marchand - '95 - G (4-6th)
Shewfelt - '96 - F (6-8th)
*Mentions - Daley '96D, Jardine '96F, Lyver '96F

Valley:
Blanchard - '96 - F (1-3rd)
Brooker - '95 - D (10-12th)
Brown - '95 - F (8-10th)
Graham - '95 - D (10-12th)
McDowell - '95 - D (10-12th)
Moody - '96 - F (1-3rd)
Nicholson - '95 - D (5-7th)
*Mentions - Dickinson '95F, McNutt '95F

Halifax:
Butterworth - '95 - F (8-10th)
Gibson - '96 - D (3-5th)
MacNeil - '95 - D (8-10th)
Marsh - '96 - F (6-8th)
McDonald - '96 - G (1-3rd)
McNeil - '95 - D (5-7th)
Mullally - '95 - F (6-8th)
Stewart - '96 - D (6-8th)
*Mentions - Doiron '96F, MacDonald '95F, MacEachen '96D, Rappoldt '96F

Dartmouth:
Donlevy - '96 - D (6-8th)
Graham - '95 - F (4-6th)
Highmore - '96 - F (1-3rd)
MacEachern - '95 - D (4-6th)
Quillan - '96 - D (2-4th)
Webster - '95 - F (10-12th)
*Mentions - MacVicar '96D, Sheppard '95F

South Shore:
Messenger - '96 - F (1-3rd)
Mann - '96 - D (6-8th)
Nickerson - '96 - D (1-3rd)

CB Tradesmen:
Fitzgerald - '96 - D (6-8th)
*Mentions - Collins '96 - D

CB West:

I don't think Stewart, Doiron and Rappoldt for Halifax will be drafted. Do you think so because of their size?

From the games I've seen live and online (playoffs), Rappoldt played minimal during the regular season, and hardly at all in the playoffs, same for Stewart.

Doiron had ice time but...nothing really wow'd me about him. Nothing bad, but nothing great either. Maybe it was his role he played (grinder).

Totally based on size and the fact that "96's go to 8 rounds this year so they may get an extra look. Of the 3, I did think Stewart showed steady progression on D through the year and Doiron didn't shy away from the rough stuff so played a decent role for a 1st year guy. Agreed, Rappoldt might be stretching it a bit.

The thought is that any '96's shown as 6-8th rounders or "mentions" are hit and miss and are likely based more on size than their actual play at this point. The same is true for many of the '95's shown in the 10-12th rounds or "mentions". I have a lot of '95 Valley players listed that were on a team that finished 6th out of 8 teams so not great. But Valley had a big back end so some team might take a chance in the last couple of rounds on the size aspect but likely only 1 or 2 of those later guys will be drafted.

Well scouting 26 just finished look back over some players you talked about S Johnson,A Bradley and S Smallman I thought I would take a look at other first year midget players stats in their first year regular & playoff well after that I started comparing some other players to these kids and then I thought lets look at first year bantam players and the name that I kept seeing was spencer Smallman when you look at regular an playoff and I know stats are not everything but when they are there year after year it tell me to take a closer look because I read on these threads that he was small after checking out his size he just now starting to grow DOB sept 9 1996 , 5'91/2, 153lbs not big but not small so keep your eye on this kid and as most would agree and one has said his hockey IQ is of the charts but haven said this I know that there is a lot of good players out there and very few nhlers but it not all about making it to the NHL ,it university ,it friends, it teaching young players, etc.Have fun and be the best in what ever you do !!!.

Just my opinion, I think you'll see him go between 7-10, as will a few other NL 95's like Kavanaugh, Snow, Cuomo (given his play at atlantics), Kennedy, and maybe mallard (10-12).

Rumor has it Duncan MacIntyre's related to some of the ownership group of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles? I could've heard wrong but knowing Cape Breton, everyone is related to everyone so I wouldn't doubt it. Anyway, don't be shocked when Cape Breton take Duncan MacIntyre with their first round pick.

just wondering what NL players impressed at the atlantics? heard cuomo from the privateers played pretty good.......also heard the leafs first line of pye, tibbo, and power played good also tibbo being awarded top scorer of the tournament as a 96 born player. couldnt catch all the games but just what i heard.

in my opinion tibbo should be a first rounder, and power possibly 4th to7th round and correct me if im wrong but pye is a third year already drafted by halifax?

Any thoughts?

Tibbo will not be a first rounder, I dont think theres a chance... And Yes Pye is Halifax property, and I agree with Power. Tibbo is small so I predict rounds 3-5.
Just my opinion

yea thats true tibbo didnt look very big when i seen him, but both power and tibbo should go in the draft with tibbo going abit earlier then power, but from what i seen both players played great in atlantics.

Question for the Q Scouts - with several of the Moncton Flyers stepping up at the Atlantics, and now a chance to perform at the Telus Cup, does the stock of all or most of the players rise as a result? Or now they are out west they are out of sight out of mind?
