Benefit from what? His track record is a disaster.

So. Let go a top 5 GM go.
Which means Ramsay will be let go.
Which means Buff/Ladd/Stuart/Wheeler are all probably pretty pissed at this move.
2 of them are RFA's.
LOLS. TNSE IS WINNAR

I wonder how this effects the possible Ladd re-signing...

Or maybe that's just you hopefully projecting the Thrashers missteps onto their new digs. Particularly since you have no idea who they have in mind for the job.

That remains to be seen, but this case is not your normal team purchase (never mind relocation). TNSE is not like an owner coming in to an existing organization. They've already got their own organization (front office, coaches, trainers, doctors, etc.). It shouldn't be a huge surprise that they'd want to keep their own organization. They've always run the moose as a NHL caliber organization and been very successful at it, many in the organization are ready to step up to the bigs with the help of probably a couple of new experienced personnel.

Neither team got much in that deal. In 20 games Bergfors managed to score one goal and get 6 assists in the Panthers.

I totally agree. Until True North proves me wrong, I'll support their decisions!

This isn't the minor leagues kid, This is the big show.
A minor league GM is much different then one who has built 2 contenders and cup winners, and made up for losing a top 15 NHL player in the span of a year.

Mixed opinions throughout the media circles.

Quote:
JeffMarek: The Manitoba ______ just lost an excellent hockey man. Dudley out as GM.
Quote:
EJHradek_NHL: Winnipeg/True North wise to go forward w/out Rick Dudley, who's better suited as an adviser/consultant than GM.
Darren Dreger says move regarding Craig Ramsay will be made when new GM is put in place.

Quote:
DarrenDreger: Craig Ramsey's future will be determined by Wpg's new gm...when that person is officially in place.

Ya those Buff and Ladd deals were brutal... (then signing Buff to a horrendous long term deal)
Acquiring Wheeler (23GP 17Pts) was a bust pick up
Drafting Burmistrov was a flop pick
Signing UFA Stewart was a disaster

Clearly he was setting this franchise back

Seems people don't really realize how good of an organization the Moose really are. It's also very common for a new owner to replace people in the highest positions. That really shouldn't come as a shock.

TNSE wants their people, this is only a surprise to folks who aren't familiar with TNSE.

The GM of this team is going to get a long time to build a team, likely at least 5 years. If you're going to commit to someone for that long can have zero reservations.

Dudley made some good moves, and he's a decent GM, but TNSE is picking the people they're going with for the long haul. They're not looking for a good GM, they're looking for the right GM.

Does a person's track record only go back one year?

Or do you suppose that's just an HF phenomenon?

Would have been fine with Rick staying as he has done a fairly good job since coming to ATL, however before that his record is not as good. I trust that TNSE will make the right decision, good hockey people up and down the organization.

I guess were hiring Claude Noel as coach, although I really want Bob Boughner or Bob Woods (lead Hershey to a Calder Cup and since being assistant coach he did well, hes better than Boudreau).

Please Bob Woods or Boughner

and hire Craig Heisinger as GM or Assistant for sure, just draft good players and get rid of Antropov, Bogo and Ladd and make it worth it

Probably, and that's probably even worse. 3 coaches in 3 years isn't good for Bogosian, Kane, & the rest of the youngins.

I think maybe it was the what 10 years GMing Tampa,Florida and Atlanta missing the playoffs that could have had something to do with it? I am glad he is gone to be honest never liked Trader Dudley

There has been some talk they might promote their AHL GM of the Manitoba Moose Craig Heisinger. Who by the way started out in the NHL back in the day as the Equipment Manager of the Winnipeg Jets, sharpening their skates and packing their hockey bags etc... I believe he was in that position up until the time the team moved to Phoenix.
