I am watching Quebec vs Rimouski right now and he is the best player on the ice, the way he skates and moves around the ice reminds me a bit of Kovalchuk and Kane.

The Rimouski goalie looks great as well, where are these guys projected to go?

I would say Erne in the Top 15, maybe Top 10. Philippe Desrosiers is a 3rd rounder in my opinion

I have no idea how this kid isn't on the US team or at least at camp. Watched the US game and the Ramparts game today and wow they could use him. Those hands are just Kanesque.

I think we're all a bit baffled that there wasn't an invite after Noesen was ruled out.

One game doesn't define a team, though. I'll wait till the team gives us a reason to rage, and not an exhibition game.

Gotta love how Samuelsson has blown up since being snubbed, too. USA selection is retarded.

They should rethink their approach to how they pick their team. Shouldn't be so quick to disregard players in the CHL.

You're clueless. Almost half of the team is made up CHL players. As for the beating of the Erne and Samuelsson horses, they are both eligible next year. Samuelsson in particular would have stood out-and not in a good way on the international ice sheet.

What's to be baffled about? The U.S. had a finite number of players in their final evaluation pool. That wasn't going to change with Noesen's suspension. They didn't even bring along Kerdiles.

I am NOT willing to get into it with the usual suspects USA fanboys on this board. However, if you've seen Samuelsson this year, you know he gets around the ice better than Matteau and Biggs. You can argue that they don't want too many guys on the squad like that, but I am positive they could've put together a much more effective group of players for this tournament.

Anyway, I will let Erne have his thread back.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree, then.

Goes to show how deep this draft is when Erene is talked about as a mid-first round pick.

After todays game that might be insulting Erne.

Does he ever play his 'proper' wing?

He plays both equally and sometimes takes faceoffs as he is good at it.

Thanks. I haven't seen too much of him, but every time I've seen him he is playing his off-wing.

Good point. The top 3 alone is exceptional, arguable one of the best forwards and goalies ever to play NHL right there.

I would love to see Erne lined up next to Bozon and Galchenyuk one day. Erne reminds me a ton of Zach Parise.

Except with more size who is not afraid to throw his body around. Whoever gets this kid will be plenty happy.

He doesn't do it often enough though. And offensively he should take more risks.

I'm sure he will realize sooner than later his frame will be beneficial to his NHL career.
