2011-2012 Avatars (RIP Pavol Avatar)

Some other teams have a uniform avatar template that has some sort of theme. My question is...would anyone be interested in having a team avatar template?

I was thinking something along the lines of my current avatar. Since our team identity is directly associated with blues music, we could do a "kings of the blues" theme. I am not sure if I like my current one enough to stick with it all year, but it is conceptual at this point. For those not into Blues music we could have Kings of the Blues be a tribute to the best Blues players of all time.

If anyone has other ideas or want to join in some other way lets hear it.

A side thought, we can do a design by committee if that works best.

I'm open to a theme, but I really like the ironic/funny ones. The King of the Blues seems a bit pedestrian. Or maybe I just can't think of one that seems particularly cool.

Does the theme have to make sense? What about something to do with horror/zombie movies (just for an off-the-wall option that could really yield some cool ideas)?

We could have multiple themes as well.

I think the Blues Brothers theme is awesome. The Smurf one is a really great job but...well its only going to open fans of other teams up to flaming us into the ground.

But I figured it would be more like the Shanny one, with former and current Blues players, not blues musicians. If that is the case, I want to call the guys in this picture:

Thanks a ton man. Ok, now I need some help getting that picture as my avatar.

As for the guys in the picture, I found a historical roster here: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...000361968.html, but it is incomplete when it comes to player's numbers.

There is a chance that the man on the left is Bill McCreary, Sr. He apparently wore #15 during his time in St. Louis.

I really like the Blues Brothers idea too. I think there's a lot that can be done with it.

I like the unified avatars for the playoffs...but not for the regular season.

Plus, I've had my current theme for a long time...I'd be virtually unrecognizable without Clarence Worley wielding his hand-cannon in my movie poster.

True Romance and Stealth JD go hand-in-hand, so you gotta stick with that. Could have it photoshopped in some way though...if you wanted.
