I really like the Blues Brothers idea too. I think there's a lot that can be done with it.

Here's something I made. I tried to make it look like this poster.

I like your Blues Brothers take. But the small text won't show up in our avatars.

Not sure who's I like better. I feel like I need to boost up the font size on the players names for them to be legible.

I think that is not going to work well as an avatar in hindsight. Its gonna shrink down too much. It could be part of a GDT thread though.

I am more along the lines of amateur when it comes to graphic design/art. Plus, I don't have a lot of time to work on all these on my own. So a helper would be great.

I was thinking something that'd be cool, for me anyway would be an Avengers theme. With this year being a big super hero movie year and all. Some how photoshop a Blues jersey on different avengers, no need for player names,

Yeah, I realized that. I started out trying to make it avatar size but gave up and just added text.
