Hmmm 64 GB playbook for $299. Got some birthday money and I am the worst with actually saving it... I have a blackberry so should I just suck it up and buy one? The price seems ridiculous

Having a BB males it really worth it IMO, just adds to what you can do with the Playbook. I have had mine since receiving it at Christmas as a gift and I am using it much more then I thought I would.

If you already have a BlackBerry smartphone I wouldn't even hesitate.
Even if you don't have a blackberry, it's still an awesome deal. You end up with something to browse the web with, use apps, take pictures and videos. Obviously it's not the same as the ipad but functionally it does the same thing.
Interesting but since I just got this one for Christmas I am very unlikely to buy a new one as the current one is fine for what I use it for. I am not like an Apple fan who just has to spend money on the newest one even if not needed. I guess that is good for Apple but just a total waste of money.

Agreed. I am looking forward to the Full QWERTY Keyboard BB10 Phone though.
What does a Phone have to do with a Tablet? (Unless you mean you won't be able to use the BlackBerry Bridge Feature/App)
Pretty much. Plus while i'm not that app crazy on my phone, I know I'd load a tablet up with them, especially games. That being said, I'm anxious to see what's possible on the Playbook 2.

There's actually been a lot of games released for the PlayBook in the past few months.
There will be a Lot more available in February when the PlayBook OS 2.0 update comes out as Android Apps and Android Games will be available too.

Good to know, I'll take a look.
My problem, when it comes to both a new phone a tablet, is that I'm VERY indecisive. Good thing though is that I'm open to all OS, so when I do upgrade, I'll be looking at all four. The new Nokia Lumia 900 (Windows) has me intrigued.

from what i've seen if i was going to get a windows phone i'd wait for 8 looks pretty interesting.
I'm waiting for the new BlackBerry 10 SuperPhone that you posted in the BlackBerry Thread. (But the one with the Full QWERTY Keyboard)
Same here but was just responding to him that if I was dead set against a BB10 based phone and went with a Windows based phone I would get the 8 and not 7.
sweet, I missed out on the first firesale... just bought myself a 32GB one!
Going to pick it up in store later today.
This time it is less to move them I because they have an overstock and more because there is talk that the Playbook 2 will be out sooner then later with some nice improvements including 3G, faster processor etc.

Considering the Windows 8 phones will likely be dual core, it would be worth the wait. Unfortunately I'm not too sure if Rogers will be carrying them out of the gate considering the Lumia 900 won't be available until May.
Right now I'm using an old iPhone 3G, which is just flat out slow. The speaker on my Bold 9700 crapped out on me Right now I'm debating about picking up a used Galaxy S or iPhone 3GS to get me through till Q4 and then see what's what. The entire landscape is going to change, yet again, when the Galaxy S3,, Windows 8, iPhone 5 and BB10 come out. It's kind of hard to know what I want when these devices are in the not too distant future.
Really? I have no issues since I have had mine which was at Christmas. I have used it at home, my parents place, my brothers and a few public wi-fi spots like at Starbucks etc. What issue are you having?

Indeed the rumored processor the London, the first BB10 phone is rumored to be sporting a dual core 1.5.
Quote:
Talking hardware for a moment, we're hearing that both TI OMAP5 and Qualcomm chipsets are being tested (1.5GHz dual core processors). If we look ahead by looking at BlackBerry history, it could be that Qualcomm is for the CDMA carriers. All we know is that with the BlackBerry PlayBook rocking and rolling the PlayBook OS at 1Ghz, that with 1.5Ghz as a baseline BlackBerry 10 phones will not be lacking in the performance department.
