Hennessy and Bernier could be teemates!!!!!!!

Well dont get your hopes up but they were drafted by the Quebec Norkiques of the WHA in the amatuer draft

83.Detroit Patrick Ehelechner
6. Québec Steve Bernier
70.Québec Josh Hennessy

My mistake Kaspar was also selected by Quebec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there something behind this or what?

Personally I don't get why so many fans think of the WHA as a new league that will compete with the NHL. I think if the league succeeds, it will be more of a league at the AHL level...not NHL. Only difference, the WHA will have a different rule set than the AHL

If there is a lockout

this may not be a bad oppurtunity for top prospects to play against other top prospects

I somewhat agree, IMO it will be better then the AHL because some of th e potential players, but won't be near as good as the NHL.

If there is an NHL season this year, the WHA has no chance of surviving. If there's an NHL, the WHA's existence is counterproductive and will face the same death the IHL faced when it tried competing against the NHL a bit.

The WHA is just an opportunistic league set up in case the NHL screws up and doesn't get a CBA in order. If I was an NHLer, I'd got to any Swiss Nationalliga A, Russian Super League or German Elite League team that'd offer me a contract. It's much more certain than the WHA and they all offer six figure contracts.

We'll see what the WHA tries to offer its players in salaries. But, how can a brand new franchises in a brand new league start offering all of its players six-figure contracts? To me, you know the Nationalliga A, RSL and DEL are sure-things. You sign with a team, they're going to be certain for the entire season. Plus, considering all the players that have already committed to the RSL, that could be some super hockey this year if there's no NHL.

Nothing can compete against the Stanley Cup.

sssshhhhh, but Steve Bernier will likely sign with Quebec and play in the WHA, because he hates the coaching staff at Moncton...

Yea I think they already had some kind of agreement with him
If he signs a part of me would like to see Hennessy sighn too
It may not be bad for them asumming first there is a lock out and two they make the team

But then they would not get first line duties like they would in junior
