Alright. Ashe is actually a decent choice. The risk would be wether or not he'd even stick around. Why not:

So our top-2 choices

-Shameus - high ranked, surprised he's still around. Canucks will pick either him or dorncob
-Ashe

My concern with ASF is that he's already a Jets fan.

If anyone has any other suggestions, let Snoil know tomorrow morning if he's around. I may or may not be.

After giving it some thought, I've come to the conclusion that it would be in our best interest to take someone with a higher posts-per-day number. This board needs someone who can produce and generate some discussion. Seriously, some of the GDT's this season were embarrassing...
With a long off-season ahead of us, it would be in our best interest to take a poster who might contribute a bit more to the board. So my vote still goes to Ashe, 3.33ppd over the past 4 seasons combined with his intangibles certainly wins my vote. Just my two-cents however.

I'd like to request a trade for a single day to the Bruins, just so I can say for the first time in forever that my team beat the living **** out of the Canucks. Then I can come back and be okay with whatever happens with our Flames. I can die happy.

Can't anybody blend the old flaming A' from Atlanta with the current flaming C? I unfortunatley lack the skills to do, but I think this would be a rather fitting avatar. Would be icing on the cake, if the background was Irish green, to honor his heritage. I would do it, but I have no graphical skills at all.

Our pick isn't very well received among the mods who have to make the next selections.

Welcome to the board Shameus. With our next pick we should take someone with a high posts per day number.

I want to say thank you to the Flames mods for having enough faith in me to take me with their pick.

A little back ground on me.

*I am one of the longest serving Thrasher posters on the site. I don't have a high post ratio, because I lurk a lot more than I post. I try to make sure that what I say adds more to the conversation than just post count filler. I also have no problem *****slapping someone down who doesn't think I'm around who messes with my team or my board. Since you have adopted me, I think I can extend that to the Flames now.

*I have served as a mod not only for the Thrashers board but for the playoffs board last spring and currently a mod on the soccer board.

*I am damaged goods. I have now lost 3 hockey franchises in my time. First the Flames, next the Knights, and now the Thrashers. This last one took a lot out of me. You can't imagine the pain of losing your team, but to lose three. I ask for some recovery and morning time. I need some time to heal. I may not post a lot, but I'll be around getting to know everyone.

*Yes the Flames games would mostly likely be going on till a late time for me as and EST resident. But I don't sleep much, so I should be able to take games in here or there.

Welcome Shameus; hopefully you are going to be alright with a full summer of wanting change but being handcuffed by contracts/ lack of farm depth/ success post Christmas.

While hf-wisdom dictates that younger is always better, I believe that adding play-off experience will greatly benefit our play-off push next season.

Welcome Shameus! So you actually plan to stick with us for a while?

It is definitely good enough for me, but let's see what Shameus thinks.

@Shameus:
Can you recommend anyone of the remaining posters, who we should take with our second pick?

Welcome Shameus! Pretty sure I said in the dispersal draft thread on the Atlanta board that you should be our pick.

Welcome, Shameus! Glad to have you here. That's rough, losing three teams... Take all the time you need. But we're definitely happy to have you here! We hope you stick around.

Like the avatar. Juneemoon, is female, as someone else already asked. Flerd_trandle would be good, doesn't post much, but has been around for awhile and doesn't stir **** up. Thrasher94 is a teen, and hasn't been around for awhile, but does seem to be a decent poster....and if people want someone with a good post ratio he would fit. Netminder 17 might be decent as well. The rest either don't post a lot or are really new.

I was surprised to pick up a quality pick in the middle of the first round. A Fowler-esque pickup.

Welcome Shameus. I can't imagine what it's like to have your team ripped away once, let alone three times. Hopefully, you find yourself loving your old team once again.

If Daryl Sutter was still the GM, you're moniker would be apt for this forum.

Welcome to the day and the life of a Flames fan.

Sounds like he may be a cancer, do we want this kind of distraction in our forum?

I don't know if they are as late for you but the games usually are 9/10 pm for me, I'm from Hamilton.

Take all the time you need to recover; 3 teams lost is an unimaginable hurt.
