When teams find energy like this and the other team loses a similar amount of energy, I really wonder how much performance enhancing drugs are to blame.

Dick Pound always seemed to know something about it and I wonder why the NHL doesn't do testing after games. Either you find nothing or you find players are being sacrificed for results.

There is no cure. All you can do is manage the disease.

So apparently, Johnny Boychuk's elderly parents were "swarmed" by Canucks fans because they were wearing their son's jersey on Saturday.

Mrs. Boychuk looked legitimately shaken and she said that she'll never visit Vancouver ever again after this incident. Her husband said that he couldn't repeat on television what they called his wife.

Just horrible. I went to school with Johnny and his parents are lovely people.

That is pathetic. Congrats Vancouver.

Sadly, I'm not overly surprised. Alot of idiots walking around in their shiny new Kesler jerseys.

Walking around in my Oilers jersey or t-shirt long enough downtown makes me wanna hurt someone hearing the stupid comments.

Friendly banter is fun, but the majority of Canuck attitudes reminds me of this:

Maybe I haven't been to enough playoff games in my lifetime (Lord knows that the Oilers haven't made the dance very much) but I've never seen Oilers fans turn that hostile towards fans wearing opposition jerseys. When I attended the Stars/Oilers playoff wars in the late 90's a tonne of hardcore Stars fans would make the trip up north and the interactions were always friendly.

Ushers at Rexall have said in the past that Canuck fans are far and away the worst when it comes to problems in the stands. I can't imagine what it's like at Rogers Arena for an opposing fan.

When I last attended an Oilers/Canucks game at Rexall Anson Carter was an Oiler and he iced the game in overtime. Canuckers had nothing to crow about during those seasons so I don't recall any problems.

From what I can tell (due to those obnoxious "Luooooo!" chants) they've been invading our building in droves over the past four, five years.

Jesus.

You know a little heckling between fans is fine when it's back and forth and in good taste.

But elderly people? Especially a players parents? That's just freaking pathetic.

Fair share of morons, but you also run into the honest Canuck fans that have supported the team since before the latest generation of punks. They are fun to banter with and actually have some respect for the game and other teams.

The positive is there's always lots of Oiler jerseys around. Nice to know there's backup.

One game I was at in my Oil jersey, I got a slap on the back of the head while I was watching the game. Expecting something about to go down I turned around ready for something. It was the stupid mascot, Fin. I almost went Craig MacTavish on that dumb stuffed fish.

How did Gilbert Brule survive attending Game 2 while wearing a Bruins jersey? Do they cut him some slack because he's a former Giant?

Most Canucks fans are probably unaware of what the Giants are, let alone who the alumni are (like Lucic).

Here's a link mentioning Boychuk's parents.

http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Canada/201...oyalty-110606/

They were apparently sprayed with beer and threatened outside the arena.

Did anyone beat down Cam Ward's parents in 2006? Maybe the Oilers would have won the Cup.

Idiot fans obviously aren't exclusive to Vancouver but these stories seem to pop up with alarming regularity. I'm in no hurry to attend a hockey game in Vancouver.

Henrik Sedin on the loss: "I'd rather lose 8-1 than in overtime like they did."

This is the same guy that said the Blackhawks had no business being in the series after Game 7.

Lol please enough with the crap about "classless Vancouver fans". A bunch of idiots does not define a whole fan base. Why don't you wear a Habs jersey and go to a Bruins game, then you'll see thousands of actual classless fans scrunched into 1 building.

Coming from an Edmontonian and Oilers fan, I can say the majority of Oiler fans really needs to get their head out of their ass. This made up "rivalry" and hate towards a fellow Canadian city/team is ridiculous.

Looking at your posting history I find it hard to believe that you're an Oilers fan.

In any which case, I reiterate:

What a terrible post.

You're more active on the Vancouver board than you are here. Big Oiler fan, I see.
