I think we make a move for another back-up although Nishi has played well.. and a goal scorer, more then likely we trade picks, and hopefully the player(s) are here for more then a month or two as rentals.

If we pick up Campbell... that means theres gotta be another move for a scorer coming.. could be an even more interesting year in Hound Land.

The Hounds have ALOT of picks... 8 second rounders in the next 3 years, tons of 3rds and 4ths, also have some good prospects who are considering NCAA options in Guertler, Sieloff and I forget the other one.... We acquired a second (potentially 2) in the Niagra trade, same in the Catenacci trade... got picks in the Thomas trade.... we have picks,picks,picks... havent been buying since Hartsburg's days... we will be fine.

Hey Hounds fans! Spits fan coming in peace. Just wanted to say that I hope you guys make a deal for campbell and solidify your goaltending. I really think he'll come into his own outside of Windsor, where our crowds tend to be blood thirsty.

Always liked the Hounds after the Spits, and here's pulling for you guys and the Wolves as my playoff hopefuls!

If hes looking for a reduction in spotlight, it wont happen here.. a change of scenery could help though. I hope if we pick him up, he plays like he can.

Four 2nd round picks, two 3rd round picks - it will take every bit of the rest of that cupboard (plus maybe more) to get a sniper based on the going price.

We still have 5 second rounders in the next 3 years, and made a few good picks this past year that didnt have room on this years squad. We are now a contender, but really need to watch our assets over the long term.

You had 8, gave away 4 and you have 5 left?

When I stated 8, I was going on memory..according to the Soo Hounds website, we must have had 9. Not sure how accurate either source is (my memory or website), either way not too bad. Windsor needs to make the picks work, Campbell has to perform.

Not giving you a hard time, just interested. If you have five 2nds left, you should be able to turn that into 2 decent players. Having the cupboard bare isn't as big of a problem it would seem with teams willing to fill it up.

Cupboards get restocked easy for some teams, Windsor, London, Kitchener, Plymouth.. in the Soo it takes 3 years, at least in the past. Dubas I am sure could fill them back up quickly, but lets not run the risk. He wants maintained success, as do the fans.

Haven't heard from dogsandwings - somebody in the Soo get the defib paddles ready. I'm not sure his heart will be able to take this!

I'm sorry but what the hell are u guys thinking? That is a lot to give up. Adding Campbell improves your team but you guys are still at least 2 or 3 very good players from contending. Unless Dubas has more trades in place then this deal makes no sense

Lets watch some hockey before we say we lost this trade.. if we go deep in the playoffs, its a good trade.

If Jacks on his game , he will make up for the 2 guys needed so you just need to add 1 more.

Well it may not be a bad season for the Hounds to do something. Sarnia and London are two smaller teams that could have trouble against the Soo and Plymouth come playoff time. Funny, apparently both the Soo and Plymouth are going after Jared Knight now. Crazy day.

Hounds are 1-1 against Sarnia, 0-1 against London, and 1-0 vs Plymouth... so far we are .500 against the "big boys" this only helps. I truly believe this team has not reached its potential yet, not even close. So many new faces, players adjusting to new roles, new countries, and players that are still young and developing.

I would not mind to see us pick up a Knight, McKegg, or that caliber of player for a package of higher picks and some toss in players, to get rid of the log jam.

Defense is fine for the year, so is goaltending, a good situation to have, and offense has been pretty good, just needs tweaking.

I am a bit surprised at the deal, really thought this type of deal would be done next year but Dubas obviously feels we can compete this year.

I'd say he's got another deal in place for a dman... dealing Braid leaves us only 6 on the roster, so maybe he brings in a 17 or 18 year old that can slot in place of Nurse and stabilize the 2nd pairing of Sproul and Miller. If we truly are making a run this year I don't think we do it with a 16 year old on the back end.

The offense from the forwards has been good so far, we've been able to roll 4 lines pretty well but it might not be a bad idea to bring in another scorer if the price is right, but I'd make a defense man a top priority.
