Dispersal Draft a giant success

Congrats on running a great show Oneel, It went smooth.
Is there anyone who would like to be traded for? I hear telfo1 wants out of anaheim already. I'm working on getting some pull in OTT for you guys. There are like, the Thrashers light. But no heatwave. i miss heatwave

It was funny, but still really sad to watch.

I don't think the team not being here anymore has really kicked in yet.

I know exactly what you mean. In October when I'm not going to Phillips, I guess it will sink in. When I see Toby Enstrom in another jersey, it will sink in.

Leafs fans are happy with our acquisitions. Thinman is great, but we haven't heard yet from one of our picks, Blueland89 I think his name is...

Anyone wanna check on him for us? Hopefully he didn't off himself because he became a Leads fan.

Good news is, you got drafted by a solid team.

Does it seem a bit strange that about half people who were drafted don't even post on the Atlanta board, certainly not in the GDTs.

Not really a proper "Atlanta" disperal draft imo.

I see your point and raise you a counter-point:
Some people who did post in GDTs chose not to get drafted or sign as FAs. So, double-improper draft.

Mind=Blown

But posted in them when I could, but I was at every home game, and can't really pay attention and post in depth at the same time.

I had a good time with it... It was fun, but sad all at the same time. Like seeing Toby or Evander in a Winnipeg uniform, or Kovy in anything other than Thrasher blue, it's going to be weird to see others wearing different colors.

But, life goes on. I'll miss everyone.

At least those of us that still have an interest in the team, the players, or just want a place to interact about the sport now have an option. It's all about options.

Sorry some took the option to hang onto emotional pain and haven't been able to pull out of the death spiral. I doubt there are many left to pull anyone off that island in late July or when camps start to open. This was a nice peace offerring by the rest of the HF community to say "we're sorry and we're here for Atlanta fans."

ASG, the players, and the rest of the world have moved along. The fans might as well.

Evan, headsigh and others..... no one died and there will be a season next fall. Enjoy your summer, get totally away from the boards and the negative thoughts. We will be here with open arms and smiles for you guys when you come back.

Take it from someone that was very young and naive about sports heros when the Flames left....

This isn't the worst thing that's happened in the world and if you just take time and step away, you will find something or someone else to put the same passion into. Peace.

I agree it is/was somewhat sad, but it's done. ASG are crooks and win in the end. There is nothing left for us other than pick your new allegiance, whether it be another team, Winnipeg, the NHL in general, or the minors. It will be great to catch up and talk about Thrashers past, but it's done.

I just kind of wish there was something more I could do for y'all. I'm kind of out of ideas.
(well, aside from the ones that involve heavy travel expenses and jail time. )

The Preds folks are collecting a number of "catbirds", so there's a bit of a refugee camp going on there, if that helps.

I wouldn't call is a refugee camp. More like a suburb.

Please answer this! It's been bugging me like crazy too. I remember you saying you were going to turn yourself off of Hockey all together if Atlanta moves to Winnipeg.

The few hours before and like an hour after it started it was really fun, after that it calmed down a bit, but I still enjoyed it the whole way. Being first overall really suprised me and the interest from so many teams. I actually felt a bit sad that so many seemed to a bit bummed for not getting me and then after the draft also felt some silent sadness when thinking about this whole thing more.

Has been cool to see how friendly people have generally been and how this has brought so many people together... sad times do that I suppose.

to me it's just interesting that Atlanta Thrasher fans went from being the laughingstocks of HFboards to one of the more respected groups. I think people finally understand exactly WHAt we were putting up with. I just hope everyone remembers it and takes it as a warning as to what can happen.

Indeed, and I will be honest, had I of not took the time to listen to Thrasher fans and done some homework, I would have been in the mindset that "the fans didn't come, so they moved"... which I still believe many will wrongfully carry that train of thought. Having said that, anyone I have spoken with about the relocation, I have done my best to inform them that it was not the fans of Atlanta that caused this, that the root of it all was poor/crooked ownership. The Atlanta Thrashers didn't stand a chance.

I've said this before, and perhaps for those who have read it, it may seem repetitive, but to me it is well worth mentioning again. As an outsider here and one who has only recently began spending my time in this section of HF Boards, I think many here on HF Boards learned something, and that is how respectful the fans on here of the Atlanta Thrashers are. What they've gone through hasn't been easy for any of them, yet they've maintained a high level of respect, class and dignity through it all. As someone who's been through it before, my hat is off to them. If any fan base for whatever the reason has to go through this one day, they should take a page of how it was handled here, because these people lost something dear to their heart, but through it all I believe they're a pretty damn classy group. I won't forget that, nor will I forget where this team came from and how they got here.

We could start an ASG lawsuit scoreboard thread because they are in fact, still at it with 2 separate active lawsuits right now....

1. vs. their own lawyers from their "6 year itch."

2. vs. Belkin because he just filed a case for July against ASG.

Question should be which happens first?
Winnipeg wins a playoff game or ASG ends all lawsuits!

My money is on winning a playoff game, but i fear the odd will be so poor on that side that it won't be worth placing the bet.
