As a "spoiled Red Wings fan", I demand that they hold on to that 7th seed, not just make the playoffs. It would be very, very nice to avoid Boston in the first round. If we can get Z back, even at 50%, our chances of beating the Bruins is a lot better. Plus, I just think a Pittsburgh vs Detroit series would be very entertaining for all fans of the sport.

Can't wait for this (half) work day to be over, so I can be at the game cheering the boys on!

The boys will be dialed in after a tough loss in Montreal on Saturday. Now that the magic number is down to 3 points, I feel it will be a convincing win : 5-1 win.

Looks like this will be the Sabres lineup tonight :

Quote:
Some new line combinations.
Foligno-Ennis-Stewart
Mitchell-Girgensons-Hodgson
Deslauriers-Larsson-D'Agostini
Flynn-Ellis-Conacher

#Sabres defense at AM skate:
McCabe-Pysyk
Ehrhoff-Ristolainen
McBain-Scott
Stewart is back in, as is Foligno. Leino and Stafford look to be out.

Let's get this W...keep 7th spot.

Columbus plays Phoenix...should be a tough fought game, hopefully we can come out of tonight with a 3 point lead on 7th as well.

Washington has St. Louis, Toronto has Tampa...could be mathematically impossible for either to catch us after tonight.

Babcock said he's using same lineup as last game with exception of Howard starting in goal. So Bertuzzi and Andersson scratched.

I wonder if "lineup" means lines or starting roster in this scenario?

I really hope the first option. There's no need to change what's been working just because we lost late against Montreal. They did tie that game after all...

Agreed Pittsburgh would be the best 1st round opponent and It looks like Malkin will be out awhile so the Pens without Malkin is very beatable.

Agreed. Getting a healthy Ericsson back is important too; this team can't afford having multiple injuries on the back end.

I've heard @ the beginning of the 1st round 'at the earliest'. I've no idea how likely that is though.

He got injured in the March 18th....4 weeks would put him at April 15th (I believe it was 4-6 weeks but I'm being optimistic...it's a finger).

Kinda dislike these games where we have very little to win, but a lot to lose. Anything but 2 points is a failure, hope they can come out strong and do what they weren't able to do last time: win the game easily so they can rest for tomorrow's game.

Get the two points tonight so we can get the one in the last 3 (possibly more).

So are Foligno and Stewart the only two knew people in from when Detroit played them Friday?

The Wheel Deal ‏@Bill_Roose 60 min
Should Kronwall hold on to team lead in points, he would become the first full-time defenseman to lead #RedWings in single-season points.
