Shanny signed for $2 million less, and I hope this persuades Palffy to lower his asking price and asked for an incentive-laden contract.

i agree. shanahan's career is clearly in its final stages, and i personally feel that 4 million per year is too much.

I agree that he is signed for too much. But if he was asking for $6M and received $4M, it might not be because the market wouldn't bear his price but that he was willing to take less to sign Palffy. Meaning that his $2M reduction might not have any impact on what Palffy is being offered in the labor market but was a willing reduction to free up money to out-bid everyone else for Palffy.
