Hopefully Hodgson gets in next game. Kid deserves a cup ring.

This.

Glass was awful again. Turnovers, poor skating, couldn't get **** done in the offensive zone, ineffective hitting.

This thread should be renamed The Tanner Glass Disappreciation Thread.

Please tell me this useless plug will be sitting next game.

Tonight pretty much epitomizes Glass' entire playoffs: shoots the puck straight into his own teammate trying to make a simple dump-in, passes it right to a Bruin in his own zone later in the same shift, and then gets the best chance of the game, wide open in the slot, and misses the puck. And the rest of his shifts were spent aimlessly lumbering around the ice.

**** Vigneault and his stupid decisions. When the chips are down this guy has no clue when or how to alter his lines..

Other than that though, good game!

I think Tamby or Hodgson would be a better option for game 6.

He'll get a ring but if he doesn't play in the Finals he won't get his name on the Cup. Anyway, that's not my motivation, I genuinely think he'd be a better option than Glass.

And he's just a superior hockey player.

As I've said before....screw whoever is on the 3rd pairing.....having Glass in the lineup at his present state of health is infinately more perplexing....

Hodgson played in Game 1 didn't he? So he'll get his name on the Cup if we win. Or was it Bolduc? Or both?

No question about that, the question is whether he'll be better than Tambo? What could it hurt is my opinion, it's not like he was brutal defensively earlier in the playoffs. Every other player who's played at all in the playoffs has had their chance in this series, based on results Cody deserves his shot on the 4th line next game. Might be a decent wildcard for our abysmal #2 PP unit as well, even when the 1'st unit doesn't produce (or look dangerous), the 2'cnd unit always looks worse.

Is there really a need to be so harsh on Glass? He is after all an injured 4th liner in the SCF.

I mean, he was signed as an AHLer after having a great camp two years ago, consummate team player who gives his all every single shift and stands up for his teammates. So in terms of expectations, he's far exceeded mine.

A more appropriate thread title might be "Why does AV insist on having Tanner Glass in the lineup?" Then we could debate that instead of pounding on Tanner.

Isn't that what I said? Think most realize he's playing hurt - that's the problem.

IF they win (a big IF), I'll bet Hodgson gets his name on the cup.

George Parros got on it, and the best example:

Quote:
Stanislav Neckar, 2003-04 Tampa Bay Lightning. Neckar was injured for the vast majority of 2003-04, playing six games all season. Then-GM Jay Feaster appealed to the NHL to have Neckar's name put on the Cup as a reward for prior years of service with the Lightning - even though he met none of the requirements and did absolutely nothing to help the Lightning win.
He was on the Predator's roster the previous year (farm team), so his prior year's of service was interrupted by being in a completely different organization.

He didn't play a single Stanley Cup playoffs game (Hodgson at least has), and of course no finals game.

If Neckar can get his name on the cup, anyone can. Hodgson has done more for the Canucks than Neckar.

It was Tambo- Bolduc- Oreo IIRC! It's entirely possible that my mind is completely blown at this point. I am pretty sure Hodgson hasn't drawn in for any game yet.

His appeal was based on Neckar being injured though, so that appeal doesn't/wouldn't apply to Hodgson. I think?

Myself I'd like to see how Hodgson matches up against the Bruins, they're not a blazing fast team and they play a fairly simple game stylistically. Hodgson's vision and creativity might be better suited vs the Bruins than any of our other playoff matchups imo. God knows just being able to shoot the puck into an empty net would be 'heroic' at this point.

What a complete BUM ...was making dumb mistakes all games...couldnt handle even the simplest of tasks (like dumping the puck into the offensive zone + turning it over in theneutral zone) ....terrible....put Hodgson in PLZ

Hodgson has his entire career to get his name inscribed on the cup. Its not like he's a grizzled veteran with his last opportunity to win.

Tambellini adds more to the fourth line (especially defensively) and we should be concerned with icing the best possible roster not getting as many players names on the cup that we can fit

put hodgson in please. ive been asking for a while.

glass is god awful. tambellini is so so but cant accomplish the most simple of tasks. hodgson while may not have the great speed still plays hard and makes smart plays. he has the puck skills to create plays, handle the puck, make smart passes and create offensive chances.

give him a shot, glass and tambellini have disappointed over and over again.

I'd like to see Bolduc on the wing with Manny and Oreskovich. Bolduc's faster and bigger than Hodgson and more skilled than Glass is right now.
